lame, I cant use general channel. How and when can I get a pet. So what level can I go to the bg's ?

You can get a pet at level 10 by taming any of the animals your level or lower. The first BG is 10-19 but I suggest not going before 15.

is there a skill I need to train for pets? Also was troll a good race to pick for hunter? Also should I pick up some tradeskill?

You need to do the level 10 quest from your trainer to be able to tame them, then just go to a capitol city and talk to the pet trainer once you have a pet and he should teach you some crap. And if you can only get to level 20 there's not much use in a profession, I guess you could get engineering if you know someone that will twink you out so you can get some grenades and stuff for the bgs.

Just recently twinked out a warlock for Level 19WSG on Blackhand. He rapes face. Once I get my Librams, Fishing hat, and +30spell dmg on my staff I think I can straight up wand down twinked rogues hehe..

what custom UI do you use, don't really like the default deal. Are the bg's anything like the ones in DAOC. Gonna try to get to 19 before trial is over.

no.. you can also engage a mob first, and someone else can kill it thats not in your group, and you still get full xp for that mob.

Bg's aren't exactly like DaoC. They each have a theme i.e. 1 is capture the flag, the other is capturing and holding nodes and the highest level one is a base siegeing type bg. On a pvp server you're always flagged if you're in a contested zone, if you attack someone or something that is pvp flagged, and if you heal or buff someone that is flagged in your faction. It goes away if you're in a non contested zone and you don't take any of these actions for like 5 minutes. And pets don't really take exp I don't think, they just get a percentage of the exp you would get from killing a mob but even if they take a little bit it's well worth the downtime a pet saves you then getting 5% more exp.

For beginners I would just try www.worldofwar.net for a compilation UI. Find one that you like and play around with them.

You can't be "unflagged" on a PvP server. Only choice is to pick a PVE server which is what I play on. Now with multi-realm battlegrounds the pvp is pretty much there anyways. Unless you like getting griefed or killing bots have at it.

negative, there is a /follow and /assist but it's free movement melee. The game mechanics are much more forgiving vs daoc where you have to be ontop of someone or facing them to hit them.

There is a Loc system but you get it from a mod like Metamap or Catrographer. It isn't an EXACT loc but it comes within a 10Yard range. www.thottbot.com will be your best friend in getting these loc's and quest info.

Don't play WOW expecting AWSOME PvP think of it as something you do when your bored of raiding or other games etc.. Thats why I quit bleeding Hollow @56 the game balancing sucks and always will. I recently came back to raid and fart around until warhammer and grew in me. Now it's been 5months and i'm looking forward to the xpac.

what kinda spec/race setup did you do for your 19 warlock, thinking about doing another character. Hunter is 19, didn't do too bad in the bg. Saw a nice bow I wanna get from the merchant outside the bg, but dont understand that currency system.

for warlock, you want affliction.

at 19 i think you can lower the cast time for atleast one of your dots, so that it becomes an instant, which gives you 2 smoking instant dots! + 1 immolate + 1 imp + 1 wand = lots of DPS!

so your lil lowbie 19 warlock, can toss down about 200 damage per second.

I been bg'ing it up on my hunter, and gotta say it is pretty fun. A lot better than bg's of daoc imo. I like how bg chat is automatically made, pre made groups is nice and simple. Capture the flag is pretty fun, this way you have a goal and you get kills going for that goal. Don't have to worry about unbalanced zergs either.

Hunter seems pretty good, I usually rank top 3, but rogues own me. Was nice getting a new bow from honor points too, plan on getting some jewelry also. Only thing I don't understand is the ranks, i want to atleast get private. Not sure what is required though, also whether or not the tabard is free?
