What Really Happens in DAOC
The PUG
So your buddies aren't online and you want to pvp. What do you do? Do you aim/msn/yahoo your buddies to log on or do you do the dreadful thing of LFG RVR? Let’s just say you choose the LFG RVR option. Because, you know your friends won't log on due to RL stuff. So you do your LFG for about lets just say 20-30 min and you finally find a group. It's just a group of random people no 8 man 1337 group or anything you figure what the heck I'll just play it's the only group responding to me. So you are in the PUG and everyone is like ok anyone has TS or Vent? Someone speaks up and says they have one and you join the Vent or TS channel. Your group is comprised of 1 healer and the rest are dps classes. I'm sure most of you are thinking now um I would never join a group like that. Please everyone has been in that lame group setup. So you guys got your vent up and you are buffed (sort of with your 1 buff) and are about to take off to go rvr. So you take off and are roaming for about 20-30 min and you finally find a group to fight. YAY!!!! So you are about to engage and the healer is killed instantly.....You then are plucked off one by one and the group dies. So what happens after the group dies? Everyone in the group including your self has some sort of RL issue going on that needs attending to. So what really happens after that? Everyone logs off, gets on their thid alt, and rvr's again together without TS or Vent!!!!! So you don't think it happens? Then why are you in Thid after a horrible pvp group
The Power Leveling Group
I'm sure most of you all have heard of Modernagrav and in this instance I’m going to use this place as an example. I have done PL groups before with other realms but by far this area is defiantly the most interesting to deal with. So you got a /level 20 guy and you know dang well Modernagrav is going to be the best place to level. You only have 1 account and it's the one that you want to level. So what do you do? First what happens is a /who Modernagrav (for me /who moderna) you see everyone online and you start sending out mad pms to everyone out there. Just to hope by chance that you will get in a group. So that plan fails
. What happens next is interesting. You then start thinking who are your good friends and what do they have on their accounts. From one of your tells they asked if you had a sup sm so you think OMG bubba (I know you don't have to say it) he has a sup sm I wonder if he would let me borrow it. So you talk bubba into letting him let you use his account by promising him his artifacts will get xp and he will get to keep the money on the sm. So you get the info log it on and are like cool this rox. So you pm that one guy back who said they needed the sm. He's like great come on out!!! (I'm going to make this easy on you lets just say you have 2 pcs I know it would be funnier with just the 1 but you will understand in a minute) So you got everything loaded and you are soooooooo excited because you know after a couple of hours your /level 20 guy will be 30 with loads of cash. So you get to hagall and then take off from there. You start to head in that direction and start to ask questions because you haven't been there before. Some guildie yells out there is a griffon you can take there. So you try out the griffon merchant and she gives a ticket to your friend's sm but gives dirty looks at your /level 20 guy. You take a min to figure out what is going on but some how cant. You finally ask in guild why it's happening and find out it's a faction thing. No big deal right? You then discover that only water separates the 2 zones. Hey it's just a river away from hagall to get to Modernagrav. So you are like ok screw it I’ll go swimming. In the mean time your group pms you "hey how long dude?" you mention only a couple min just have to swim over instead of the griffon. You start to swim but your sm is getting attacked by blues and greens and OMG your alt died!!!!! So you release and come back to the water line. In the mean time your group asks you "How much longer?" you say "almost there" (yeah right). This step happens a couple of times and then you FINALLY get your alt to shore!!!!!! You think OMG this is great just run down to the crystals and I'm good. So you get down there and you see (physically see) 2 groups down there. So you PM your group and ask where they are and they say the north wall. You FINALLY find your group after running around 2-3 times around the crystals and then you get buffed and do about 20 min worth of pulling. You are finally getting xp on your alt. You ding to about 23 and the shaman says they have to go...... (you had trouble this far you think I was going to put a group death in there ) I know I know you are freaking out now its ok. So the shaman goes away and you spend the next um hour looking for a willing shaman to come out and be a buffbot. So you finally find a shaman to fill that one guys spot. I'm sure you are thinking thank god for that. I worked soooooo hard to get here I’m going to get some levels!!!! Guess what? Rinse and repeat the shaman goes through exactly what you just went through only with 1 pc and can not af himself... Come on like that hasn't happened to you
Girls in DAOC
Well because I am a girl I guess I would be suited with going into what really happens right? Well guess what I'm not going to go into what happens when you are a girl (or a boy pretending to be a girl) in DAOC. I will leave that for my next chapter in what happens in DAOC.
