Option B if you do not have to satisfy shitty cooperate criteria. BTW Amit, any news on the hack?

We seem to get option a with little experience, or option b minus the "quick" learner part.

Go with less experience...just because you can train the person to be more efficient to your style of running things.

the other person would probably be better candidate but set to their own agenda and not flexible...

Go with less experience, I am trying to hire now, all I get are 40 years old ++ that know all but dont want to do the job the way I want it.

Less experience can be better since you can mold them to where you want your company to go.

My employees are blue collar worker, man they made the amount of grey hair on my head double in 2 years.

It can sound a bit harsh, but its like that.

I think it depends on the position you are looking to fill.

Anyone can do certain jobs, so experienced or not, youre covered.

But, if its a key position that needs filling and you dont want to have to turn around and interview an assload of applicants again in a month or so, experience surely pays off.

I mean think about it, employee retention cuts down on many things in the business world: Workmans comp, health insurance, and much more.

Tell us what the job is that you are hiring for sugar, for me personally, that makes all the difference. :P

I'm assuming Amit is confident Person 2 will be able to pick-up the job. Only a small % of individuals actually look forward to their job, so I'm not a big fan of making it even worse by fucking up chemistry. Especially if we are talking a small operation.

Rhia has it right. It all depends on the position you are hiring for. I can tell you in banking there are certain positions like corporate, trust, and commercial banking that require a minimum of 10 years financial/sales experience and an MBA. In those instances you cannot hire the least experienced candidate. If you are hiring someone to handle a register at a retail location experience is not nearly as significant. It all depends on the position is the bottom line.

I gotta go with option A.

Bottom line is sales. I've got a bunch of people I pretty much hate, but they get shit done and sales are alot better than they used to be before i took over and fired 6 nice and friendly types.....

Yes..that way, you can train them to become option A. Then repeat the cycle you are stuck in atm.

/sarcasm off.

Hows the EB merger going Rishug? I have a friend that manages a Gamestop. I heard they are going to use EB's front end and the GS data base for your new systems.

they are using EB's system because game stop has no way to find anything in thier inventory. EB's system has the ability to look at other stores in the district to see if a game you are looking for is close by. But we are adopting Game Stop's teminology. i'm stuck in the middle where i can't even get rehired yet because of the silly merger but i think i'll probably start next week.
