Hey,
It was impossible for me to play DAOC, was too hardcore, not enough time to be competitive, so I tried SWG.
I totally loved the game, its very flexible, no cookie cutter spec, crafting is nice, can use vehicles from the start, the expansion in space is fun.
Its the type of game that you can log on for 2-3 hours, have fun, go to bed, and thats it, you dont feel bad that you left in a big fight.
This type of game brings people that are really not stressed out, people help, people show you things, etc.
The game is not perfect, graphics could be better, a bit of lag, but right now, its a good alternative to my busy life styles.

I've actually picked up Eve Online for a bit. I heard in its early days it was horrible and plagued with problems. What I like about it is your skills train in realtime so you set it up to train something, log off, and when you come back your trained. I like the concept of not having levels. Its also a MUCH slower pace than any other MMO ive played and its kind of refreshing. Its more of a game of strategy and tactics. Its all about getting rich, having a pimp ship and cruising the galaxy. Of course, I've only played it for 3 days but I'm liking it so far. I haven't thrown in the DAOC towel yet but since our guild is dieing on mid lamorak i figured id find something to occupy my time until everyone comes back (if they ever do)

SWG was a disaster from both a development and marketing perspective.
At least it's moderately stable now. When it was released, it was shakier than Tara Reid after 3 hours without vodka.

ugh, swg....
I played it from release and was burned enough paying to beta test it the first couple of month I swore I'd never go back.
Ive been playing BF2.
No monthly fee and perfect for my limited playing time.
Log on, pick a server and kit, and commence to killin
If anyone else plays, my tag is Mourning and I don't play any specific server, usually what ever is open

I was in beta for SWG, starting in the real beginning, like beta 2. It was crappy, lag was bad, there was no feeling to it, they had found a way to make star wars bad, which is sad.
But,
Thats not how it is now, I love it, combat is good, getting groups is easy, getting help is easy, etc. They changed the fighting system, etc. I got 2 problems with this game, too many people became jedi, and the monthly fees are way to high. Too high because, for exemple, an expansion is coming out soon, in a place like wow, this expansion would have been free, but with them you need to pay. But with the makers of EQ, its always about cash.

I signed for for that Station Access for $21.95/month. It's a pretty good deal considering I would get it just for the extra Character slots and mini-expansion content access, but I did Log on to SWG and saw quite a few changes, My TKA/Swordsman Wookie apparently had "assault gear" on and couldn't wear it anymore :/
I thought about trying it all over and making a jedi with all the revamps but the game is just too crappy and the PvP System really does suck balls. (You have to flag yourself if you WANT to PvP... Pfftt...) All my hopes rest in a good DnL release.
