So I hit 55 last night and was surprised to be told that im still too low to play with people doing raids. I just wanted to point out what retarded elitism this is. Almost every day I hear "we need more priests on this raid" yet people are unwilling to take a priest who has basically the exact same spells with only very slight differences. Sure at 60 the heals are slightly bigger and you have a bit more mana but your spells also cost more. As for the stupid arguement "you'll get too much aggro." How does casting smaller spells cause more aggro? Any priest can tell you the smaller the spell the less the aggro. As for differences in armor, they are moot since priests are wearing cloth anyway which doesnt do much. And lastly would you really want to have a group without a healer or wouldnt it be better to at least havce a lower lvl one around?
difference in shields between 55 and 60 180 hp 65 more mana for 60
differnce in flash heal 150 hp 55 more mana
why am i too low?
When people say get more aggro I'm not sure they are talking about through healing, I think they are talking about through just being there in general and aggroing other groups. 55 is okay for a priest if they keep their asses in the back. The hardest room to pull in UBRS with a 55 priest that I can think of is the first room because you easily aggro other groups, especially if you get knocked back.

55 is decent for the lower tiered dungeons
but UBRS
Scholo

if your 55 you need to keep your ass WAY WAY in the back or you will pull insane aggro. Not you personally but the 55 over your head.

Priests are probably good for ubrs at 57 since they stand in the back anyways. But, yes, the range at which a mob will aggro you is dependant upon your level, if you really want to test it, make a level 1, and have some guild mates summon you to a place like Feralas or Burning Steppes. When I was level 52 in Beta I took at level 27 out to see Feralas, and the mobs were aggroing him from halfway to clipping range while he was stealthed. Trust us, it makes a difference.

Yeah bro this is how aggro works in WoW. Ever notice that as you get higher level for a zone suddenly the mobs don't aggro you until you get closer to them?
It works both ways.
Think of it as "bravery" based on level discrepency. So a level 50 mob is bold vs a level 40 player and will attack from far away. However that same level 50 mob won't attack a 60 player unless the 60 "violates his personal space" and gets real close.
Personally I think it's awesome and very much more realistic than other games where "grey = no aggro / not grey = aggro".

yeah i tested it in game and you are all right of course. WORST. MECHANIC. EVER.
now most games dont really help casual players play with their power gamer friends with the notable exception of games like city of heroes but this is the first one i have seen where they have done their damndest to make it impossible.
