leveling in wow went like this for me....

ooooo quests this is cool. ok some more quests. hmmmm can't i just go xp somewhere oh ya gotta do quests.... ugh more quests. ewww this sux i hate questing.....

leveling on mordred

ok i'll get a quest in OMG PK!!!!!!! woot we killed em ok back to the quest. ok lets go xp somewhere OMG another group lets jump them. woot we got em!!!! then that group sends us random tells of fags idiots couldn't we have peace. we ofcourse reply QQ (the one thing you can't do in wow is talk to the people you just killed which is GAY) then you just get pled by a ds necro and its all over ^_^ and you go pk all the time :D

if i were to play merlin yes that would be gay but i wanted more excitement other than questing for a month to go pk and it isn't even good pk. I saw preem's roomate pking with his rouge and it didn't look fun. so wow isn't fun but daoc is atm :D

You did it the wrong way.

Duo + group = key.

Some quests, some grinding.

There are great areas to grind and get items.

Content and playability only got better, after 30 it was all up hill.

You'll see once BG's are released and rewards are in, you'll be here.

Enjoy the DAOC gayness for now.

If you guys did nothing but quest to level, and never pvp'd while in contested areas, then you sure as shit missed the entire point of the pvp server. There are no rewards for pvp right now other than the general satisfaction that you just totally owned someone, and while that does suck, it's not forever. Mordred was always gay. Of all the people I have played against, those players were, by far, the worst. And if you quest in DAoC you might as well just quit. There are only 3-4 levels where questing in DAoC is worth it, otherwise you might as well just freaking grind. And you could have ground in both games, the only difference is that in WoW you got rested exp for logging off early and it was twice as fast for an hour or so the next day.

The general thought, "I have to quest to level" is exactly where half the population falls short and levels at a semi-decent (and only decent) pace, and ends up penniless at level 40 with only average gear. If you can't see the benefits to grinding and running instances, and you can't find a camp that provides good exp/hour, then I say there is something wrong with either yourself, or the game, and I never had any problems finding a place to grind if I felt like it, so I'm inclined to not blame the game.

Outside of the first 90 days, you are correct sir. :inlove: Sirion.

I just reserved a few names on your server mang. I need a few pieces of gear on my Priest and should be incoming soon.

OK. Honestly. We never had anyone else to group with when we played. Everyone else was too high of a level to group with us. AND THATS OK. That is not a rip on you guys.

But at the same time, when its just me and Daemic, learning a new game ALONE, its was pretty tough.

Dwayne, I know you promise PL and everything right now. But I've been thru a couple moves with you. The "Mordred Move". The "New Mordred Move". It ended quite abruptly.

I don't mind nor care that you guys are higher lvl's than us. You had fun together and your 60 now. But it wasn't fun when we were 25-26, and seeing you guys spamming your lvl 35+ armor in guild chat. Talking about 39+ lvl raids. After seeing that, I didn't care anymore. We wanted to lvl with the guild and we weren't fast enough. Our fault I guess.

I just didn't feel the BWC unity when I played WoW. What I saw was ....Fastest to 60 wins.

Maybe I'll activate, maybe I won't. I still enjoy DAOC. SORRY for that.

ANYWAY. I love you all.

I will man, don't get me wrong. And maybe it's just me interpruting things the wrong way. Too bad we all can't get together sometimes at some "local" bar and just shoot the shit. Board chatting and even game chatting can be taken out of context somtimes, without the human face to face interaction.

So if read into this wrong, my bad. It is just a game....both of them.

I guess my main problem is that my friends play WoW, while i like DAOC. It's hard to log onto Merlin sometimes and not see the peeps. But logging into WoW, wasn't a lot of fun either.

Bottom line is. Lets all meet for drinks in the middle of the country so I can get sloppy drunk and say over and over...."I miss you guys"....

i gotta agree with everything keabit said there about seeing everyone pass you. When wow came out i was just starting a new job and had no say in my hours and i always worked nights so i missed out on everything. i missed my rl friends on mordred and i missed the shit talk that comes with pks. I also missed being able to just come home and pk or do what i wanted. With wow all i could do is come home and quest by myself even preem was like 10 levels higher than me. It just got to the point of more fustration than fun for me. I didn't have the time i was use to having to do the stuff i needed to do. I live by this code which is how i lead ED by.

Play to have fun if you are not having fun make it so you are :)

i live by that in game and irl ;)

guild is larger now.
more levels all over the place.

People that are 60, pl the newbs through quests and instances, even Derek is 32.

People that have 60's are playing alts that are low level.

Game is different then when you played.

Items are shared, things are passed, and we have crafters.

Also on DAOC, for me it was trying to keep it fresh in the Mordred move, and it just couldn't do it. sorry.

At least you have toons there now :)

And here is the biggest flaw in your reasoning.

If you didn't like the game that's cool, I hated guild wars, wouldn't touch it ever again, but some people liked it. That's just a personal view on a different style of gaming. But when you say you *had* to quest, especially by yourself as a priest ( I'm pretty sure I saw you on a priest way back, but it might have been a mage....) you are just mistaken. Firstly, as a priest, you could have found a group if you wanted it, no doubt. Priests are probably one of the least played classes on our server, I'm positive if you actually tried to get a group you would have gotten one. Of course, it may not have been with guildmates, so it may not have been the same, but you certainly didn't have to quest by yourself.

Now then, you are right, alot of people tried to fly to 60, and alot of them are 60 now, so there are alot of alts being rolled. I think the primary misconception about WoW is that you are obligated to quest for some reason. You don't HAVE to quest. Blizzard just made it more rewarding than Mythic did, so that's what alot of people do. Two-three people farming mobs for good exp/hour can level just as fast as people that quest, and make more money to boot.

I guess I just don't see how people can acutally want grind out levels in tired ass DAoC again, where it's both harder, and more boring to level, than they could in WoW. Once again, that's just taste and opinion in games though. If you have fun in DAoC by all means play it, if I still had fun in it post ToA and NF then I sure would be :)

I understand where you all are coming from. Who knows, I may still activate. By then, everyone should have enough stuff for me to leech from :)

I just don't think was ready for WoW. It was fun at first for me because it was new. But deep down, I still enjoyed DAOC. That's all.

And D, don't take what I said the wrong way, I didn't mean any mailce by it.
