Impressions of WoW

Postby Fardomar » Tue May 25, 2004 2:53 pm

I have been playing WoW now for about 2 weeks and I wanted to post my impressions of the game.

There are four classes that I am very interested in playing so I have played each of these a little. I have the following.

Lvl 18 Orc Rouge
Lvl 16 Tauren Warrior
Lvl 8 Undead Mage
Lvl 8 Undead Priest

My overall impression of WoW is that it's a very well designed game, especially this early in BETA. I love the quest system of lvling. I have never leveled the old-fashion way yet. Granted, I am not all that high. The quests in the beginning are easy and get gradually harder to the point where you need good groups to finish.

I love the rogue class. Seems a bit over-powered IMO. I will probably play a rouge as my main. The warrior class seems a bit under-powered IMO. The way to go as a warrior is 1hand/shield and be a pure tank.

I think we will have tons of fun in WoW, assuming ppl can finally break away from DAoC, which I have doubts about. This is not even mentioning the PvP side of WoW. I can live with or without PvP so it doesn't matter to me how it's implemented.

Blizzard has done TONS of things to make the game FUN. Plus they are doing things to cut down on the macroing/ebaying morons.

I can see myself playing WoW for a very long time.

I believe most people are at least going to try WoW. If you don't try it you really are missing out on a well designed game. We all hope the PvP system will add to an end game. Well see ~

I can rent lord of the rings and watch it for effects and entertainment. If all it is is PvE I wont touch it, I already retired from EQ several years ago :)

the pvp is gonna be like diablo.. which i guess is ok, but you will get bored of the game when pve dries up, because pvp is not really a holding tool. its more like a keep you entertained and give you something to shoot for carrot while you pve.

tell me if i'm wrong, but that's how i'm anticipating it to be like.

It's more like DAoC. Consenting pvp areas. I would say Guild Wars was much more Diablo-like ~
