i think the website is www.timeconversions.com or something like that...

alternatively register on the raidplanner website and it will automatically change it to your time anyway :P

I don't understand this whole raid planner stuff. Could you please elaborate more?

To me, seems sort of silly to go to 2 other websites for raid information when we're trying to keep it centralized in 1 location. I don't know. Someone can explain to me why I need to sign up and the importance of it when I can just enter a date and time on these message boards.
The message buck stops here.

Msinosic, please post these raids on the raid planner, it's so much easier for all of us.

The raid planner Sino developed is tailored for ML raids more than anything, and is open to the entire realm (or will be once we start promoting it). You can receive emails on raids being posted for ML steps you need. I'd say those are 3 of the major differences/advantages with the raid planner.

So you only have to visit it when you want to join a raid, or host your own. You don't have to lose brain cells checking the VN boards for ML raid posts, and you don't have to check the BWC forums if you're not in the alliance for ML raids that might get posted either.

What happens when you want people outside the alliance to know about raids posted on your calendar? You have to post them on the merlin VN board right?

Wouldn't it be nice if you could avoid VN and just post it on a ML raid planner where hundreds of people needing to do MLs have signed up? They don't even have to login to check for raids, they can get emailed about the ones they need. Perfect for lazy people. The big hurdle is getting said lazy people to sign up. People can clearly see which steps are going to be done, and which steps they need (if they keep it up to date - people usually got reminded do so when raids ended on hib/guin)

So basically, it makes it easier to reach your target audience, assuming said audience bothers to sign up :)

Hib/Guin has a private realm board where raids sometimes got posted, sometimes they got posted to VN. Once the raid planner was made available, it was promoted on VN a short while, and a permenant link was placed at the top of the realm forum. Word soon spread and it became a great asset for the realm.

Different server, different attitudes, and different times (more people have completed their MLs now), so whether or not it'd work here, I don't know.

I have admit I like the site. I thought it was kinda pointless at first with us already having the calendar. I still like the calendar b/c it is more long range and encompasses more than just raids. The raid planner is pretty sweet though. you only have to visit the site to update your toon or post a raid... However, if you are feeling froggy you can actually go there and sign up for the raid as well. All and all I give it two thumbs up. Good job, Mssonic.

sorry for my delayed response, i have been on bf duties ;)

i believe kord answered the questions pretty well. my first post here about the raid planner came out a little bit wrong. it is not meant to be competition to any existing raid calendars or whatevers. it simply is another asset to help in the organization of raids (ml raids primarily).

i stress that it should be used as a guide only. people will join raids and not show. people will not join raids and show. that is the nature of people. i can guarantee you that more people will come than those joined on the day. these are those lazy people or last minute raiders.

take last nights ml 3 raid for example. its one of few raids i have been on since joining the server but that was a massive amount of people! 120+! its insane and the raid leaders did the best job they could to keep things moving. hats off to them! i am not sure if your raids usually get that big but the raid planner seemed to reach a large audience. maybe too large! (put a limit on people in the description ;)

majesticone - the raids were on the raid planner i was just posting them here for you guys that are anti raid planner ;)

a little info on the site and the times...

once you sign up, which takes all of 1 minute, your instantly in. it takes you to the create character screen where you can make a character. what is of most importance here is the ml steps. tick the ones you have done. that way when a raid is posted that contains steps that that particular character needs you will be notified via email about that raid. for me that is the best thing about it. no daily trolling vn or alliance boards searching for ml raid posts.

and the times.. a little bit of java code knows your local time zone offset. the server knows its time zone offset. do some fancy calculations! a+b=c =P and all the raid times will appear in your local time zone even though they were posted in the raid leaders local time zone. maybe ill steal the bwc calendar layout ;) /ducks

anyway guys. enough ranting. try it, like it, love it, hate it, use and abuse! no wait, dont abuse please ;)

Zhatan ... =)
