About Convicts

Postby kordaer » Thu Apr 22, 2004 3:39 am

Already posted a bit of info about us, but here's a more detailed run down.

Just a quick summary first:
- we're mostly aussies
- we may refer to some of you as yanks, or dirty poms, etc. but it's just a bit of friendly slang, no offence intended (honest!).
- we mainly play aussie hours - 3am to 8am EST. Friday and Saturday night EST is usually the best times for us to participate in EST raids. Sunday night EST is Monday for us, when we're at work or whatever.

The core membership of Convicts originates from Nocturnal, a Hib/guin guild that began at release. There aren't many members of Convicts that wern't a Nocturnal at one stage or another. Nocturnal began as a guild for aussies, and slowly grew to 150 or so members, incorporating people from around the globe. It eventually reached breaking point, when a number of its core members left to form Convicts.

Convicts have a few yanks that play odd hours, and a few euros. Most members are either working, bludging at Uni/College, or dole bludging. Whatever the case, there's guaranteed to be some kind of bludging involved, as that's the Australian way :bigups:

As Convicts on Hib/Guin, we mosly ran in guild groups. After doing pickup groups for 12+ months you come to realise what a waste of time they can be, especially once gank groups popped up all over Guin.

We never ignored our realm though. While we ran guild groups mostly, we always filled up spots with whoever we could find. We're apart of the Vae Victis alliance there, an alliance that was always about defending and taking what was rightfully ours (whichever relics we felt like having). It was a huge alliance of the major guilds on Guin, which made co-ordinating relic defence and offence so much easier. Now though, there exists a number of smaller alliances that have splintered off from it, but we've remained with VV through out.

In the last few months, RvR has really dried up during the offpeak hours when we go out to rvr. So that's why we decided to come here, to try out a new realm and actually get to enjoy some rvr during our prime time.

We ran a lot of guild/alliance/open ToA artifact/ML raids on Guin, and we'll be doing so again here. A lot of them were spur of the moment, and some were planned well in advance. We'll try and post the planned ones up here for those on at our hours to join in.

Officer wise, most of us are GMs, so if you need to talk to once of us, just /who Convicts.

Looking forward to doing some great things with this alliance!

Any idea when you crazy outbacks will be leveled up and RvR ready?
