Inquiriy into Snufulupagus -- ATTN D

Postby Snufulupagus » Tue Feb 03, 2004 1:45 pm

Just received a removal notice this morning and was curious as to why I was kicked out of BWC after being a member for nearly a year?

I retired Snuf, asked Celest if I could get my new main and and I was denied this under the basis, of, quote " no more fucking casters " --

I was going to remove Snuf since he was going to be inactive, but several people in /gu just said leave him in and come talk every once in a while, next day he was removed.

I fail to see the sense in this.

I have played tanks and stealthers on Merlin since day one of release and since Beta 3 as well. I needed a change to make things interesting again and motivate myself to play.

I assumed, that being a long standing member of BWC and having quite a few friends in the Clan, I would be welcome no matter what toon I played.

--- Edit -- Also note I offered to remove Snufulupagus under the "1 main only rule" for Meteorite to get a spot.

However, apparently, the character played is more important than the person behind that character as I have come to find out.

I was planning on surprising everyone with news that I would be coming to Vegas ( or New Orleans, whatever was chosen ) for the Clan gathering this year since I turned 21, but I will have to remiss on these plans it seems.

Im glad that I made a lot of good friends in BWC and think highly of most of it's members. I've played with a lot of folks since the days I was in PRX, and Im sure I will see you all around under my new guild tag and character.

Im not sorry that I didn't play what Celest wanted me to play. No one pays my monthly bill for DAoC except for me, and until someone offers to do so, I will be playing what I wish to play, and what Im playing now is damned fun. =)

Good luck.

Whoa Snuf I love you man, I think you are overreacting here.

I did a large guild purge last night of characters across the board that haven't logged in for 2 weeks and asked alot of people to move alts to Winter Bane and new mains to BWC.

You told me that Snuf was not going to be played so I was under the assumption your new main would be in BWC.

When you talked to Celest that probably wasn't the discussion at the time, so I apologize for the miscommunication.

We love you and have nothing against you or any of your characters.
Get your main in BWC, come to Vegas, and drink and play cards next to me as we break the house please.

Contact me in game or PM me here for questions or concerns please.

Sorry for the confusion and to any others. We do housecleaning once a month. Not against anyone personally or in game.

The purge was needed. Great job D. Snuf you gImP. Stop being sooooooooo emotional numbnutz and kick some ass. We need more support classes but never tell BWC member what to play. We can always recruit what we need.

We have a tough situation, and the officers don't know what to do about it.

What do you do if the whole guild decides to reroll casters at the same time? What do you do if no one wants to play support? How is a 6 runemaster group viable without healers or tanks? What happens when your siege lore tanks all decide to be runies and no new siege lore tanks are in the pipeline?

Whats the solution?

At some point, we may have to draw a line and say no more. Thats what Celests mood was the other night.

Alternatively, we could insure G1 is always well constructed with support classes a group needs to be viable and not distribute spare healers to G2 G3 unless we have lots. But in the current climate, G2 and G3 are always gonna suck. Maybe that would motivate people to play what is needed. Some guild members with many chars already do that and play what we need at that time. Himm & Jahl come to mind.

But I don't think it's good for the guild when we set out from the PK with 1 healer in each group moving at runie or healer speed.

I also don't think it's good for the guild that whenever someone hits R4 they roll a new char. Like it or not, realm rank matters. ML ability matters. I'm not saying people should have not alts. I am pointing out a truth in the game. In a perfect world we would all find our favorite class right off the bat and then stick with it.

So whats the solution? Yes we all pay our 12.95, but if everyone wants to be a runie at the same time we all will suffer.

None of this was a commentary about Snuf at all, this is a more broad problem.

And I have no idea about the solution. Hopefully it fixes itself.

IMHO friends/guild mates should always transcend the classes they play. I think echo'ing our old BWC rule, FUN is #1, so when your not having fun with a class anymore then roll something else.

Limiting new recruits to healers/skalds/shamans is a good thing for the guild right now but old guildies who need a class change shouldn't be left out.

Yeah I got that same e-mail.

I assume I would get re-guilded if I decided to come back to DAoC?
