Demerit

Our alliance needs to grow. A /gc who alliance will usually show 45 or so. We need more than that to be more independant on keep raids or whatnot. If we tell people they need to earn their way in, then they'll just end up in the Myth alliance. We can bullshit ourselves otherwise, but it's not like we have a line up of desirable guilds that want to get in.

An example:
Brotherhood by Blood applies a few months back. We basically tell them to get RR5 or start putting up serious RP numbers and then get back to us. They join Myth Alliance and start to build a community. Now I see their SB's in Hib cg giving scouting info frequently on keep raids. In retrospect I think we probably should have taken them, but how do you know at the time? If we tell them they've got to run with us but we don't have regular events then we set a condition they have a hard time meeting and they'll end up going Myth alliance.

So Demerit applies today - say they are going to be hard core RVR people. My vote is we let them in and tell them it's going to be a month or two probationary period. We'll tell them that we'll both decide over time if it's a good fit, but we'll give it a shot. Then we find out if they really RVR or not. If they are a bunch of carebears, or regularly won't come out and help we tell them sorry & cya.

Same thing on adding people. When Super was around he was inviting people impulsively left and right. But anyone that couldn't follow instructions or fit in was promptly booted back out. This kept super supplied with people that would follow him on raids. We have to have some standards and not just invite anyone, but we also need to restock. Alot of old time members are NOT coming back. We need healers regularly, we need skalds, and melee. I personally think we need to be more active both on adding and substracting people.

What do other people think?

my rule of thumb, try them out, if they suck after a week dump them, if not, keep them.

As long as you get them in good habits with you, you are gtg.

My rule of thumb is spit > lube
Although detractors decry (MMA) as a brutal, bloody form of human cockfighting, aficionados know it is a brutal, bloody, totally fucking awesome form of human cockfighting. -The Onion
