Problem is, the guy who wrote this hasn't played in the last month. That is a huge issue, the game changed in amonth so much.
Each planet now has 5-15 static "dungeons"...some are caves, most are structures, that are permanent. There are about 20 base models is all right now, but they wanted to put them in as that was the biggest complaint from beta testers, at least one of them. They already have details about the next "above ground dungeons" as they call them taht will be in the first patch after go live (as in 3-4 weeks after). They have a team devoted to nothing but static content that has been working for the last 2 months on it, and will until it is fleshed out, and then they have additional planets to add.
Plus, there are static PoI's, just neat lil things, crashed ships, the bones of a dead krayt dragon, etc
I still say this game is being released too early. And it is NOT for everyone. My biggest fear is will I still want to play in 2 or 3 months. The power leveler is gonna be disapointed, because you can level relatively fast, and there isn't a huge power gap between you at maxed out and a newb player. Yes, it is there, but it isn't a fraction of the gap that exists between a 50 and a level 5 in daoc, or eq. The higher "level" guy will have better skills with the weapon, access to more stuff, and extra skill abilities, but if he chooses not to use those skills (as so many do not, just like early in daoc) he isn't that much better.
Casual players will love the game, rp'ers love it, crafters love it, adventurers (IMO, contrary to the above link posters) will love it, it is huge, with lots to see, plus player content exists to find.
I'm really not trying to come across as a fanboi. I assure you, some of you will not like the game. I think most will. I've played them all to some extent, and it is unquestionably the most "complete" game out there. By that I mean...ya know when you go to one game and think "man, I wish my favorite game had this feature in it", well, it has it, o rmost of them.
As always, decide for yourself, don't let me or someone who hates it make the decision. The first 2 nights on the main boards have been (suprisingly) positive from beta testers. I think 99% think it needs at least 2 weeks more, but oh well.
