Ok, supposidly they are starting with 10 servers right away, the first 10 alpha wise. They will open up these and more as needed. So should look there.

here is my take...I usued to say teh euro server, eclipse. Merlin was the unofficial euro server at daoc's release, and it was always one of the better populated ones. However, the servers can fill up and keep you from loggin in...that would suck for half of us to get in and the other half couldn't (just have to wait a few minutes but on release, people don't tend to log out much, server load is always higher the first few weeks than normal, as the casual folks are playing like hardcore ones).

I still say east coast, because it works best for euro's, east, and west coast, and everywhere in between. West coast servers completly suck for euro's, and it is harder on east coasters to get good groups as the west coasters are atwork/school still, or just getting home, for our primetime.

I personally love to pvp, but I would have to say avoid the unofficial pvp servers. 1, they attract exploiters. Look at blood in ac, conquest in eq/and here, huge guilds on the pvp servers who have a reputation, more so than any guilds on the normal servers, of cheating and exploiting every advantage.."If it is in the game it is fair game, I shouldn't be responsible for a coders mistake" attitude just isn't fun to play with. 2. They taper off. I don't think this will happen here so much, as it isn't a true pvp server, but I think eventually they want to play with the rest of their friends, and move to other servers.

So that leaves picking one of the others. Well, then that only really leaves Chilastra, what an ugly name.

The big deal about Merlin was that it was the unofficial PvP server. That really helped it's population also as everyone wanted a shot at the better guilds. That's pretty much why on Andred you saw so many top 10 guilds from Merlin. If you want to compete against the better players hit up Bloodfin. If you want to go gimp because we will be split as a guild chose another.

"compete against the better players hit up Bloodfin" Ya know,honestly I haven't seen this in games yet. If you want to compete against the players that THINK they are better, go to pvp servers. On andred, outside of Dragon Family, was there any super tightnit groups that were better than some other places? Palo had the alb group, khaja might have been in a few, but telian and ipno (spelling) that were every bit as good as anyone. And honestly, I never was impressed with dragon family, the "best" of the best. We took out 2 groups, mostly 50's, when they got the jump on us, when we were mid-late 40's doing umbral hulks, just 1 group. Wasn't even close.

Wanna go where there will be the most trash talk, children, leet speak, exploiters and people with out an ounce of morals, thats the unofficial pvp servers. DT killed my desire to play AC, not because of competition or anything but because I felt I was playing with a bunch of village idiots.

Obviously not everyone is llike that, but it does attract that crowd. Personally, let them go someplace else...away from me

Hehe, same as I Candide. Early on in Andred Merlin locked it up then left after a few months of bordom. CQ, Combine and CC dominated while SUN, DDH and a few other guilds were top 20 or so. IMO CC was the most impressive Andred guild. CQ exploited PBAoE and was damn tough but CC ran some damn ub3r 8v8's.

BTW I am for staying off the "PvP" server (if we can't muster the full guild) also Candide and was originally just trying to add a reason to the Merlin server pop. Thanks for the server list man ~
