Not to start waving the white flag prematurely, but whats up?

Not directed towards specific individuals or identified groups. This is a post about specific issues that should/must be discussed by the guild to get a concensus.

Rp totals this week is at a bit over 1mil. I know we took a hit to the RP totals losing alot of the regular RvRers but it seems that we just can't do as much as we used to.

I know one of the main problems is the shrinking guild side. Statistically speaking, BWC is at roughly normal size with the near 100account status. However, alot of these people are inactive or simply not RvRing as much as they used to. Also it is becoming more and more uncommon to find more than 20 people on at the same time. We cant even field 2fg like how it used to be (or sometimes even 1fg).

Also in addition, no offense to Celes and co, but it seems like we're resting on our haunches. Yes, there are lots of reasons why, and many are valid. Its the idleness that seems to be getting to people.

I know that many of these issues I contribute to (my unwillingness to go to Emain) and I make no disquise hiding it. The idea here is not to point fingers at people, but to fix issues so finger pointing is not needed.

These are the issues, and here they are on the table. Discuss.

The above is like a thesis of sorts, here is my own personal OPINION.

#1. We need to set goals. BWC made its name in Emain (for better or worse). I think its time we live up to it. I want to toss out all the fair play and ettiquette shit when in emain and just have BWC play to win. Fuck this 8v8 and honorable play shit. Back to the roots which made this guild what it is.

#2. In or Out ultimatum. Our roster on the herald does not represent our roster in game. I think its time we made clear to certain individuals that either they play or they do us the common courtesy of /gc quit.

#3. Ass kissing time is over. Being polite is good and all, but being polite also does not inspire intimidation.

We let ourselves grow dull toting the realm war flag. Not to say that we won't defend the realm, but it shouldn't be our only concern. Why should BWC maintain the relics when we aren't the ones who profit from it.

I know this is a departure from what I normally say, but I say fuck the no zerg for RP whoring deal. I WANT to see 2fg+ BWC in Emain killing albs and hibs over and over again. I WANT to see people complaining in /gu about not having space in G1, G2 and hell, even G3. I WANT to see BWC only raids where we don't have to suppliment our numbers with non-guildies.

If the nonplaying existing decision makers are not interested in maintaining the guild, I think it should be time for them to back off. If you are a normal guild member who does not agree with what needs to be done, they should back off. We are losing because of our lack of drive and the barrier in place that prevents any of it from forming.

I don't give a shit about the Arsenal zerg or the Justice Zerg or the Hib zerg shits. They complain cause they die to them. They don't complain about the BWC zerg cause it aint BWC zergging anymore. But guess what, this is Merlin, zerg central. 8v8? Move to another server.

I think we'll get numbers back after the summer. Hopefully by then the SWG'ers are ready to return, Alb Guin folks come back, and the rest of us will be ready to spend some time indoors playing.

Good post Aenslands. I know some members are very interested in rebuilding Merlin BWC. Joshll, Celestrial, Godorn and Crip are all gimps that still play a lot of Merlin. Let me pitch my two cents on what has happen and then I will post again on your content after I think about it a few hours.

These are just opinions -

1) BWC's primary goal is fun. Besides that he guild lacks direction. The leadership is gone for the most part including the guild GM who also was the realm raid leader. Of course it's not his fault (RL issues) but it takes a toll. We have 30 leaders (Gimps) of which I would guess 5-6 play more then 20 hours a week on Merlin.

2) BWC started bickering amongst itself. This may have to do with people getting caught up in being l33t or trying to run in different play styles, I do not exactly know. All I know is we went from grouping guild members all the time to some go to Emain, Some stay in Odins and some run with other guilds. Some go for 8v8 and some solo etc.

3) BWC used to kick inactive characters. Now everyone knows to log in once a week and dick around in the guild house so they show up active on the Herald. I am guessing we have about 50 level 50 characters with under 10k on the roster. This makes it hard to see what exactly we need and what classes we have etc.

Short of that: I want to go to hib to continue the realm wars, but I have no desire to be anywhere emain or the freaking AMF.

I would be very interested in taking hib keeps if we have 2g+. I want my power relic back dammit! And to do that we need to soften the hibs up by constantly taking keeps.

If we only have 8 I'd vote for running the gorge or breifine. One of the problems with trying to do 8v8 in briefine the gorge tho is you will get rolled by shux's OE crew that numbers more than 8, or you will have to face a custome designed 8v8 crew like ES which we will rarely have the right group put together to deal with. Still, it beats zerging the amf.

But count me out for mkx/amf/tower/apk runs. It's a waste of time. I'd rather run Odins than zerg emain. Sorry.

I was one of the consistent RvR players in the guild. What ruined it for me was when I would log in, look for guild groups, get no response in /gu. I would get upset but I still wouldn't give up, I would solo if I had to but often it resulted in my ganking from some zerg that was following the mids. It got old real fast and I lost interest in the situation. I spoke to other BWC'rs and I am not the only one that was experiencing this. So I am on a break until super gimp is back to whip this shit back into shape. I wont join any other guild I just want the old BWC back is all.

Me and Qrak (lvl 38 warrior and shaman) are both going to be 50 in about 2 weeks (give or take) so that should solve all the rp problems.

I also agree that alot of people will be playing more regularly this fall/winter.
