I've noticed at several sites, people have recommended Phenom chips. I've read nothing but mediocre things about these chips (relative to the performance of the Core2 architecture).

i want one.
it was cheap.
it works.
but quads as a whole seem to be sort of useless.
many games run buggy with them, and you are forced to turn off some of the cpus when running the games
example: BF2 (can only run on 1 processor), CoD4(can only run on 2 processors)
