so i have a broken Viewsonic pf225b.. its pretty much the top end as far as CRTS go. i can send it in for repair for 300ish dollars..

or i can save up and buy a new 20-24inch LCD

how long do u suppose a LCD will last me as far as mechanically/electrically?

i just want to hear opinions from people who have owned multiple LCD's for a long time. and if u have had problems with them breaking down or stuff like that.

The technology will be obsolete long before it breaks. I have a 20" Dell FP2001 for about 3 years or so. It has quirks, but it's dell. It's going great after 3 years so far.

I have 4 LCD's, 2 19" and 2 15" freebies. The 15"s are over 4 years old, no issues. The 19"s have been used nearly everday, 10+ hours a day, no issues at all, for the past 2+ years.

You will never look at a CRT again.

Yea I forgot to mention I use mine 12+ hours a day. It also serves as my television, which is left on all night. I think LCD's are a good thing now :bigups:
