hey all
I have an intel vc820 board on my P3
i can't seem to turn it on or boot up from it
and i see a red light coming from the motherboard after taking it apart
board fried?
or is that some virus/or other errors?
the website don't seem to be helpful....
any clue anyone

Some of them just have a light to show you there's power to the motherboard. I've had mine do that (although it's not the same motherboard, or chipset) and I had to unplug it for awhile, then move the jumper to reset the bios, plug it back in, try and turn it on, then unplug it and move the jumper back to regular.

Then it magically started working.

Does it have a red & green light? Mine does. If it doesn't have both, ignore everything I say below.

If it does, besides resetting the bios with the jumper like Barbos says, I'd try reseating the memory and PCI cards. If that doesn't do it, take memory and PCI out altogether & "boot" (it won't fully boot without memory, but within the 1st 10 secs you'll see if the red or green light comes on and that may give you a clue). If it stays red with everything out, & resetting bios didn't do it, then you either need a new power supply or the board itself is bad.

But then, I really don't know what I'm talking about, thats just what I'd try.
