Dell is a poor example but Flip is absolutely correct, I can tell you guys as a corporate banker who deals with fortune 500 CFO's that what you pay for is what you get. Base model ford=cheap base model Toyota=more expensive, Ford craps out in about 36% of the life of the Toyota.

some of the best deals at dell are behind us now though.

too bad for all you idiots who crapped my threads when I posted the dell deals.

the stackable 25% and 20% coupons along with storewide 15% off promotions and shit are gone. now the best you can do is do a 20-25% off, which is still a damn good deal on especially the 400sc. But other computers aren't always the best value (but they are of the same quality).

I'm not disagreeing on you get what you pay for... I'm saying, for a cheap computer, you can't beat Dell's price.

As far as reliability, you have about the same risk as building it yourself. Parts fail, regardless of where they come from.

Comparing it to a ford is absurd.
