I think Dynamic Events is the thing that will do that. That is the glue in the bond that brings the players together. I think that will give you recognition when you start to build that sense of community. The other thing that I think is important and this is not a direct answer, but we have World vs. World PvP in Guild Wars 2. I think that will impact PvE as well. Which is your server shard matched up against two other servers in open world PvP. If you like Dark Age of Camelot, this is, in our minds the next evolution of that.

Recorded footage.

I really like the look. If they pull off a three realm pvp system GW2 might be worth watching.

At least the tri realm system should be interesting. I think one thing it did well for DAoC was promote a sense of "realm pride" you just did not get in arena play. There are a couple interesting titles coming out in 2011. GW2, Rift and World of Darkness by CCP.

World of Darkness has some insanely detailed graphics atm but the vampire theme may attract a lot of genetic rejects. I love what CCP did with EVE and they are becoming one of my favorite gaming companies. I think it's worth watching.

Rifts claims to have over 200 abilities and tons of customization but could end up just being your classic underwhelming 2 realm WoW clone without Blizzards ability to actually code and update.

GW2 looks like it's the next big thing.

I think I am probably just gonna play DAoC until EA turns it into a cluster of porn servers. No game has held my interest for longer then 3 months since I played DAoC.

Haha, at first I thought you said DAoC and then I remembered it's 2010. :P

Sadly it is still the best MMO out imo. I will see what people think of GW2 after it has been out for 6 months. :onfire:

GW2 will probably be the last MMO I play, I have high hopes for it but I've been burned by WAR, Age of Conan, and Aion. All games with great potential that have just went down the shitter. I have been following GW 2 for a while now and I hope it will save the dieing pvp mmo genre.

I don't understand how gaming companies are missing the boat on MMOs so badly. I would think they would figure out that they need to advertise and deliver but be ready to deliver before they get to crazy announcing a release date.

I think you just nailed it. There is too much investment pressure to release the games before they are ready. It sucks.

It is pretty much why I have decided to play DAoC until EA execs decide to turn the servers into a company porn cluster...
