I Just hit lvl 30 and I really wanted this class to work out, but its got some real drawbacks.
No snare or knock backs = easy target for kiters
no real burst damage and the HOTs you proc from combos really don't help that much
Can only use one handed weapons (sword and board), so the few times ive tanked for a group, aggro ALWAYS gets pulled away from me pretty quick. The sadism thing is pretty cool, but only does 12-15 per tick atm..
The majority of the posts on the DT forum are pretty well written critiques of the overall design with most of them hoping for some love in the future.
On the other hand, I've only run into one or two other people playing DT's (at least on my journey from 1-30), so its got that whole "uncommon" thing going for the class.
I'm thinking of re rolling a conquerer

Two things. EVERYONE is complaining about agro generation. It's hard for any class to hold it...at least, soldier classes that is, Healers seem to be the masters of holding agro
Check the conq forums first, many of them aren't very happy either. Seems like Guardians (which is what I am playing, 51 level I think) are the strongest soldier class right now.
Of course, that means DT and conq to a lesser degree are high on the list for buffs and/or guardians on the list for nerf.
