1.
Leadership Positions and Responsibilities
1. Rebirth is lead by a guild leader and a system of four councils called, collectively, officers. Officers are expected to act in the guild's best interest; however this is not a form of representative government. Council decisions are final.
1. Guild leader
1. May over turn any non-unanimous council decision.
2. Deals with Blizzard Representatives in or out of game.
3. Has authority to act in the absence of a council majority.
4. Has the right to veto the promotion of any member to officer.
2. Raid Council
1. Determines raid scheduling and location.
2. Determines the requirements for and chooses raid leaders.
3. Researches new raid zones, writing up strategies and making resist/gear suggestions.
4. Determines overflow policy for raids.
3. Recruitment Council
1. Balances guild size and class distribution.
2. Defines the recruitment/application process.
3. Actively recruits new members.
4. Handles positive public relations and advertisement.
4. Itemization Council
1. Determines RGP System.
2. Defines pricings under the RGP system.
3. Determines the requirements for and chooses Loot Masters.
4. Handles loot disputes.
5. Determines and presents the loot policies for all instances.
6. Researches new drops, including faction related drops/recipes.
7. Assigns recipes.
8. Assigns items crafted out of guild resources.
9. Determines which drops are guild resources.
5. Abuse Council
1. Handles player disputes (non-loot).
2. Determines and assigns disciplinary actions.
3. Handles negative public relations including complaints against guild mates from non-guild members and excluding Blizzard GM complaints facing the guild as a whole.
2. The guild leader does not sit on any council, but is expected to pay attention to all. (S)He may veto council decisions which are not unanimous. The guild leader is elected through a 2/3 vote among the officers, and can be removed by the same 2/3 vote.
3. Councils consist of 3 officers each, with no two officers serving together on more than one. Each officer must serve on at least one council and may not serve on more than two at the same time.
1. Officers are elected by a 2/3 vote among the current officers. Member names may be brought to vote only if there is an opening on a council, and must be sponsored by a current officer.
2. Officers may be demoted to member:
1. When they choose to step down.
2. If A 2/3 vote of the current officers asks for their removal.
3. At the Guild Leader's discretion.
1. Can be overturned by 3/3 vote of the Abuse Council.
3. Officers may be suspended or muted:
1. By a majority of the available Abuse Council.
2. At the Guild Leader's discretion.
1. Can be overturned by 3/3 vote of the Abuse Council.
4. Council decisions are made by a present majority vote. The guild leader can overturn or fiat any decision that is not unanimous. A unanimous council vote is final.
5. Each council is definitive and absolute in their area of authority.
6. Council decisions are presented to the guild by a representative chosen from their council either verbally (in the case of things such as raid targets and some raid strategies) or in written form (in the case of RGP and recruitment decisions). Councils are responsible for the distribution of information regarding their policies and decisions.
2.
Membership
1. There are 9 ranks of membership in Rebirth.
1. Guild Trial - This member has passed initial recruitment considerations and at the recommendation of the recruitment council has been approved to run trial raids while their competence and attendance are being investigated. These members may or may not be officially tagged (At Recruitment council's discretion), and will have no alt, loot, or guild bank rights.
2. Initiate - This member has passed the secondary recruitment considerations and at the recommendation of the recruitment council has been approved to have full loot and guild privileges. Initiates have no alt privileges and are encouraged to play their mains. Initiates remain this rank for 2 weeks while the Recruitment Council determines their fit for the guild. If, at the end of 2 weeks, they are a good fit, they are promoted to member. If, at the end of 2 weeks, they are determined to not be a good fit- they will be removed by the Recruitment Council. Initiates are expected to understand that they are finishing their trial period and cannot be guaranteed membership at the end of their 2 weeks.
3. Alternate - This character is a secondary character of a member. They have access to all guild privileges but may only loot as per the “Alt Loot” section of this charter.
4. Inactive - This member has let the recruitment council know that they will be inactive for a period of time. They will not be removed from the guild roster if it is apparent that they wish to return and actively participate as soon as their issues are resolved. We ask that inactive members keep the recruitment council informed as time progresses. Barring notification of a specific time frame of inactivity, these members will be removed after 30 days without contact with the guild.
5. Member - this member is a full member of Rebirth, and subject to guild removal only by a represenative council, or the Guild Leader. They have full loot and guild privileges. The majority of Rebirth will be listed as Member. Members are expected to remain active and participating members of the guild, aiming to attend as many raids as they are capable of attending. Members who do not contact the recruitment council to be moved to “Inactive” will be removed after 2 weeks without contact.
6. Muted - This member has been muted by the Abuse Council or the Guild Leader. They still have the rights of their former rank excluding guild chat. This rank is intended to prevent private arguments from spilling over into the general guild chat, and disrupting the play experience of the non-involved members.
7. Officer - This member is an officer of Rebirth and sits on one of the policy councils. They can be contacted regarding their council's area of expertise or for direction to the appropriate council for a complaint. They have full guild privileges, access to officer discussion chat and forum, and the ability to set/change player notes, the message of the day, and guild control privileges as their council rights and responsibilities demand.
8. Officer Alternate - This character is the secondary character of an officer or guild leader. They have access to all guild and officer privileges as per their players council rights and responsibilities, but may only loot as per the “Alt Loot” section of this document.
9. Guild Leader - This member is the current leader of Rebirth.
3.
Alternates Policy
1. Rebirth acknowledges that what a player does in their free time is their own choice. Many World of Warcraft players enjoy playing characters of an alternate class or race. As this activity generally promotes long term enjoyment of the game and longevity of our player base, we try to maintain a supportive alternate policy.
1. Players are allowed to request a “tag” for one alternate character of non-level 60. This character can be changed at the request of the player any time an officer with the capability to /ginvite is available. Players may tag as many level 60 alts as they choose.
2. Tagged alts may be of any level, any class, any (same faction) race, and may level as fast or as slow as the player wishes.
2. Alts will not be required to be attuned to any content. However, players are strongly encouraged to acquire the appropriate keys and attunements as alternates can, in special circumstances, participate in locked end game content.
1. Alts are limited to content that has been declared “farm” status by the Raid council.
2. Alts may only join a raid if, at 15 min post start time, there are not 20/40 Main characters available to attend.
3. Alts may be denied a spot in the raid if the raid's class balance requires the player to be on their main for the best interest of the other raiders in accomplishing the current raid event. This determination is made by the Raid Leader.
4. Loot rules for alternates will be determined by the Itemization Council, and can be found in their addendum.
3. There are a few responsibilities to the guild we ask of players who are playing tagged alts.
1. A Scheduled Raid, as defined by the raid council, is mandatory attendance for all online players. Unless you are waiting, with the Raid Leaders permission, to determine if there is an opening for your alt on a scheduled raid you are required to log over to your main character and attend the Scheduled Raid.
2. When the call is made by a Raid Leader to gather for a world boss attempt, regardless of time, players on alts are required to log over to their mains to attend the world boss attempt. Alts must leave instances or BGs to attend a world boss attempt in a timely manner.
4. There are a few rights that the guild grants to players when they are playing alts.
1. Raid Leaders will do their best to determine if a world boss raid has a chance of success before calling alts to log over. This call will only be made with the reasonable expectation (although not guarantee) that a successful attempt can be made.
2. Players will be free to play their alts without harassment from other players in any fashion they wish within the rules of the ToS and guild by-laws. This is a courtesy we extend the players of alts to acknowledge their courtesy in allowing the guild to know where they are and to call on them for world bosses. If a player feels harassed about playing their alt, they should contact abuse.
3. Players are free to remove their alt from guild at any time they wish without explanation or questioning. It's encouraged that you talk to us about your reasons so we can fix any problems, but alts are the players to do with as they please.
5. Your main was recruited for a class/guild balance reason. We will not change the designation of “Main” to an alternate character except under special circumstances.
1. Your alt may not be in a class that is currently “closed” for recruitment. Ideally your alt would be of a class that is currently listed as “Recruiting” but the Recruitment council may consider an application for “Not currently recruiting” under extenuating circumstances.
2. Your main may not be in a class that is currently “Recruiting” and it is discouraged if your main is of a class that is “Not currently recruiting”. Ideally your main will be of a class that is currently “Closed”.
3. Your alt would go through the regular recruitment process, including any trial period or periods without loot rights. Your application may be denied at any time before your Alt is officially promoted to member at the discretion of the Recruitment Council. If you are denied a designation switch, your main will still be allowed to raid as your main, and your alt will maintain all alt privileges.
4.
Abuse Addendum
1. Members are encouraged to be active in helping to provide solutions to any issues that they find worthy of complaint.
1. Complaints against other Members and specific Officers.
1. Should be filed to the Abuse Council. Please detail out the issue at hand, the date and approximate time of the last incident and any steps taken at the time by the Abuse Council or Guild Leader to resolve the issue. If the complaint doesn't include all the requested information it may be disregarded. Take the time to answer all questions.
2. Complaints will be dealt with privately and with as much respect for the involved parties as possible. In return, please be as respectful and polite to the Abuse Council involved in dealing with the issue at hand. It's not a fun job, but someone has to do it.
2. Complaints against Councils
1. Should be dealt with within the council first. Contact a representative of the council and let them know your specific concerns. Try to present your concern concisely, and with a reasonable suggestion for an acceptable solution. Complaints without any attempt at solvency will be ignored.
2. Should be filed to the Guild Leader. Please detail the issue (overstepping authority, refusing to act in a timely manner, etc) and any steps taken with the council in question to resolve the issue. If no effort has been made to resolve the issue with the council in question, the guild leader may deny the petition and send the complainant back to the council for resolution.
2. Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow
1. Sometimes a guild member's complaint or issue cannot be resolved. Sometimes a guild member realizes that the guild just isn't working out as well as it should be, they're not happy or able to keep up. What happens when the final answer on a complaint or issue is simply not acceptable?
1. “Good Terms” parting. We're not the guild for everyone, we acknowledge that. If you cannot come to terms with any aspect of the guild, but have sought resolution in the normal manner or leave in a calm and orderly fashion while letting us know the problem (aka there is no resolution), we would be happy to give our recommendation to any guild you consider in the future. We maintain a positive working relationship with many of the other raiding guilds on server and would be happy to take the time to talk with their leaders and compliment your capabilities and strengths.
2. “Bad Terms” parting. If you cannot take the time to attempt to resolve the issues you have with the guild or to at least discuss why you are leaving, we will consider it leaving on “bad” terms. While we will not defame you to any guild you seek to apply to, we will be honest about the situation with those who ask. That will include offering any outstanding complaints that have not been resolved for the other guild's consideration, and answering any questions we are asked regarding your reasons for leaving. If you don't tell us why you're leaving, we will tell those who ask we don't know why. If they ask why we think you left, we will make our best guess.
5.
Item Addendum
1. RGP values are to be followed in a guild sponsored run of 40 man content, including world bosses. Loot Masters determine if a run is to be RGP based.
1. Even in an RGP run, not all items will have values assigned and may be assigned by the Loot Master, with oversight from the Raid Leader. This includes such items as:
1. Epic Patterns/Recipes/Schemas/Formulas
2. Guild crafting materials
3. BoE Blues/Greens
2. The RGP value of item is determined by a formula that uses the item's intended level, item quality, and a slot modifier. (For more information on how the RGP value is calculated, please refer to this post in the Itemization forum).
3. RGP is updated after each boss kill at the discretion of the Loot Master for the Raid
1. BoE drops or trash BoP drops may be calculated into the totals at the time of the drop or combined with the next boss kill at the Loot Masters discretion.
4. Points are assigned to players based off a simple formula of Total RGP for drops / #of raiders involved.
1. EX: 80RGP of items, 40 attendant raiders = all raiders receive 2 points.
2. All members, initiates, trials, and officers receive the same number of RGP per drop.
3. If a drop is disenchanted, no points are awarded to the raid for it.
5. There are no minimums or maximums in this Zero Sum RGP system.
6. Late Join or Early Leave.
1. The raid leader is in charge of deciding when/if new raiders to any raid may be cut off.
2. The Loot Master is in charge of determining who gets points for late attendance, who gets to loot if they were late to the raid, and makes any determination regarding a player's points and loot if they are leaving early.
7. While not enforcing a specific class priority system, the guild encourages our members to make smart decisions about the value of an item to their character. The itemization council, or RGP manager, has the right to question the motive for any player claiming interest on an unusual item. The itemization council also reserves the right to deny an items from a character at their discretion.
8. Upgrade Pricing
1. Rebirth's loot system assumes that all items are replacing a non-RGP purchased item. As a result, some prices may be high when replacing an RGP purchased item. In order to address this concern, all RGP items can be upgraded (after the first pass through the priority list) or downgraded (after the second pass) depending upon the relative RGP values of the items involved. The price for an upgrade is the RGP cost of the second item minus the cost of the first item. If this value is negative, the item is ineligible for the upgrade round, and may instead be taken as a downgrade for zero RGP. Upgrade and downgrade pricing only applies to items of the exact same slot type. A main hand replaces a main hand, a one hand replaces a one hand, and a two hand replaces a two hand. A two hand does not replace one handed items, nor does an off hand or main hand replace a one hand.
2. Eligibility for upgrade or downgrade pricing:
* You can only obtain upgrade or downgrade pricing if you already have an epic for that slot that has a RGP cost. Since Zul'Gurub epics do not have an RGP value you cannot upgrade or downgrade from Zul'Gurub loot.
* To get upgrade price for a 1 handed weapon you must either have an RGP valued weapon and an RGP valued shield or two RGP valued 1handed weapons.
9. Alternate Policy
1. Alts earn RGP for themselves. They exist as their own listing in the rgp database, and in most cases earn points for themselves. The exception is if the alt is requested to participate by the raid leader, it's rgp may be earned by a main.
10. Assignment of Items.
1. Progression Gear is defined by the Itemization Council at the recommendation of the Raid Council.
1. We strongly encourage all of our raiders to take Progression Gear. Each player with upgraded gear makes our raids and guild stronger. As such, we will not disenchant Progression Gear if there is someone in the raid who could use it.
2. Progression Gear will only be assigned as a last resort.
2. To award loot on a raid, the Loot Master will go down the list of players in RGP order. The item can be purchased by any player when their turn is up.
1. First round: Full price for mains
2. Second round: Upgrade (if RGP difference is positive) price for mains
3. Third round: Downgrade/sidegrade (if RGP difference is zero or negative) price for mains
4. Fourth round: Full price to alts
5. Fifth round: Upgrade price to alts
6. Sixth round: Assigned to player or disenchanted at discretion of Loot Master.
11. That's not my character!: Special Cases for RGP consideration
1. Trading accounts:
1. If a player wishes to trade accounts with another player in guild, the EARNED RGP will follow the player, while the spent RGP will stay with the character. This is to properly reflect the time and dedication that a player has given to the guild and the gear their new main has picked up. The Itemization council reserves the right to refuse RGP account transfers for any reason.
2. Temporary swapping:
1. Temporary swapping of accounts is actively discouraged. If, however there is an imbalance in the class/raid distribution such that the raid leaders deem it would be difficult or impossible to continue, special cases may be considered. If a temporary swap is approved by the raid leader(s) a few special RGP rules go into effect.
1. The Player earns the RGP for the raid.
2. Player may not spend the character's RGP, or their own.
2. Non-RGP Instances
1. 20 Person Content (Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj and Zul'Gurub)
1. 20 Person Content is typically run once or twice a week, depending on the raid schedule and number of interested players. It is not a scheduled raid, and although it is entirely optional, it is encouraged for those who can find upgrades.
2. Due to the odd loot structure, faction building concerns, and that the gear here is of questionable quality compared to MC/BWL/AQ40 Rebirth has deemed 20 Person Content NON-RGP. That said, there are a few loot rules unique to the instance.
3. Faction Building and Unique Crafting. Faction Building and Unique Crafting items are not to be sold outside the guild. Please use them for faction building or crafting, or trade them inside guild for items that would be more useful to you.
1. Bijous are used for faction building and crafting. We limit players to one per instance, until each player has received one. Players should roll “Need” until they've won one Bijou, and “pass” after they've won one.
2. Coins are used for faction building and crafting. We don't limit the number a player may receive. All players are encouraged to roll “Need” on all coins that drop and trade them around at the end of the run.
3. Idols and scarabs are not used for faction building, feel free to roll if you need the item in question, and pass if you wish to avoid the banking headache. If everyone is passing on the item, send it off to rebirthbank.
4. Hoodoo Piles/Scarab Coffers should not be looted until the raid leader says it's okay. Looting these triggers a large agro pulse that can train nearby mobs onto the raid, and could easily wipe the raid if done at an unfortunate time. Voodoo dolls or the herbalist scythe should be awarded via /random to the appropriate classes.
5. Dropped sets. Dropped set items will go first to those who have the other half of the set. If there is no one with the other half, then they will be /random 100 for.
6. Primal Hakkari xxxx. Classes will be determined consulting this list and classes who can use that piece are allowed to /random for them. Please keep in mind what item you would be using the primal hakkari for. If it would be an exalted faction item, but someone already has the materials for the friendly faction libram it would be polite to pass.
7. BoE Blue/Epic world drops. Roll Need on all. If someone in the raid could use it, it will be passed to them. If more than one person in the raid needs, they may /random for it. If no one needs, Enjoy the spoils of the AH!
8. Gathering nodes will be awarded by a /random by all interested.
9. BoE Greens are passed to an Enchanter for disenchanting to supply guild enchants.
2. Stratholme, Scholomance, UBRS, LBRS, Dire Maul.
1. Class priority is given for all Tier0 set pieces. Any member of the class in question may roll on the piece. If no member of the primary class is interested, any other players interested in the piece may roll. Tier0 BoE's may be greed rolled or sent to Rebirthbank at the raid leader's discretion.
1. Devout: Priest
2. Dreadmist: Warlock
3. Magisters: Mage
4. Beastmasters: Hunter
5. Valor: Warrior
6. Shadowcraft: Rogue
7. Lightforge: Paladin
8. Wildheart: Druid
2. BoP non-set blues should be rolled need before greed. If all pass need, they are disenchanted and the shards are used for guild enchants/factioning.
3. BoE Blues/Epics. All participants should roll greed. If it is actually needed, interested players may need for the item.
4. BoE greens may be passed for guild enchanters, or may be rolled greed on at the raid leader's discretion. If you have any questions about the policy, ask early.
3. Guild sponsored raid/party farming/questing/factioning
1. Raids organized by the raid council for farming epic quest drops (Eye of Shadows, Dragon Sinew) will award the quest component to members by following the RGP database according to date of acquiring the corresponding BoP piece. If all BoP pieces in the guild have their match, additional epic quest drops should be sent to the bank for the next person who starts the quest. Players may bypass this by forming their own raid or farming party for the drop.
2. All BoE greens are passed to a guild enchanter. All BoE Blues/Epics are assigned via need before greed, sent to the bank for redistribution, greed rolled at the raid leaders discretion. If you don't know the policy, please ask before the drop occurs.
6.
Raid Addendum
1. Raid leaders determine where the Scheduled Raid is going.
1. Raid Leaders can be designated by the raid council, and are not required to be anything other than a player with a working microphone and ventrillo.
2. Scheduled raid times are determined by the raid council, all online members are expected to attend scheduled raids. The times and dates will be announced at least 48 hours in advance.
3. World bosses will usually be downed outside of raid time, when they appear. Raid Leaders will determine if there are sufficient numbers/classes to make a world boss attempt, and all players logged in are expected to attend. When the call goes out for all players to move to a world boss, please move with all haste. Several guilds on this server are capable of defeating the same bosses we are, and world spawns will not wait for our convenience.
7.
Recruitment Addendum
1. Rebirth recruits intending to field a consistent, balanced 40 man raid, such that we can progress in our goal of defeating new content as quickly as possible.
1. Recruitment status for any class is designated
1. Recruiting - We are looking for your class. Post an application and we will be contacting you soon.
2. Not Actively Recruiting - We have either the correct amount or a surplus of your class. If you are interested, please post an application. We will consider people on a case to case basis. Please be aware that most will be turned down as we don't like to have people sitting out on raids.
3. Closed - We are completely full of active raiders. If one of them disappears off the face of the earth we will consider changing the status but at the moment we can't take any more.
2. Application Process
1. File an application at our website
2. Recruitment Council will review the application privately to determine class balance concerns and any errors in the application, contacting the player if more basic information is needed. This process should take no more than 3 days, but may take as little time as necessary if the class is open for recruitment and the application seems in order.
3. Guild Review. Recruitment council will seek guild opinions on the members regarding competency, compatibility, and any concerns. This process should take no more than a week, but may take as little as the recruitment council deems necessary if the applicant has an active sponsor and the recruitment council determines they would be a good fit. The applicant may or may not be guild invited at this time based on the determination of the recruitment council. This is the point at which an application will be posted in the recruitment evaluation forum.
1. While the Recruitment council is seeking opinions on the applicant, they alone have the choice to move the applicant further in the process or to deny the application.
4. Trial Run. Recruitment council will approach the applicant at the end of Guild Review if they determine that the applicant would fit the guild personality wise, and set up a series of trial runs. These trial runs are defined by the recruitment council and may be to any guild sponsored raid activity, not limited to locked instance content. This process may take up to a month, but may be as short as 48 hours if we are in a raid cycle and the applicant is active.
1. Trial runs accumulate the normal RGP for the applicant if the trial run involves a RGP activity, however applicants may not spend RGP on a trial run until all member mains and alts have passed and the item is in danger of being disenchanted.
2. The Recruitment Council may request further information on the applicant's competency from guild members or the raid council, but they alone have the choice to move the applicant further in the process or to deny the application.
5. Initiate period. Recruitment council will approach a successful applicant at the end of the trial runs and offer them a promotion to the guild rank of initiate. When the applicant accepts that promotion, they will have full member rights with the exception of a tagged alt. Initiates are encouraged to be active in the guild and let us get to know them. At the end of two weeks, the Recruitment council makes their final decision regarding the initiate and either promotes them to member, or lets them go.
