Yeah you WoW geeks out there.

I went to BlizzCon over the past weekend (Oct 28-29) (more likely dragged by Jeff but I met like 8 of his friends--mostly girls o.O). The Con was alright. Not the typical type of conventions I've personally been but suited for the Geek gamer.

Basically introduced the new expansion The Burning Crusade (lol I almost forgot). A new race, the Blood Elves, which are aligned with Horde and have shadow, dark type magic. I didn't get to play the Blood Elves since the set up they had was retarded (200 computers in a giant convention hall and 1 hour play time and 500 people standing in line...hmm yah no)

Hmm lets see some spoilers:
-New class = Hero ( no info)
-Paladins get super love in 1.9 patch. More defensive type stuff. Blessing buff is a group buff on a 20 min timer
-Itemization improvements to include Spell Penetration and Spell Damage
-Battlegrounds = More 10-20 man instances; Aiming to avoid zerg type PvP; Some deathmatch instances (Note: Jeff and the group went to play 1 hour battleground while I blacked out after drinking all day...see below)
-Dungeons - More 20 man-40 man instances. More in depth quests and "tribute" quests)
-Starcraft:Ghost is a great looking FPS game :D

Other than getting a SWEET T-Shirt that says "/afk"...well...there was some girl drama. I almost made out with another girl, became fucktarded drunk and spent half the night blacked out and puking, and spent another night looking for some dude's wedding ring before his wife kicks his ass :o and much much more... but that's another story :) (You can PM or AIM me for details)

Interesting ... I looked through the Blizzcon pics the other day and didn't realize how many hardcore WoW heads there are with all those funky costumes. Looks like it was a good time.

I reactivated WoW last weekend but other than logging in and looking at my toons I haven't done anything yet :P

Cele I'm shocked at your behaviour ... I didn't know you were that type of girl :bigups:

was any info released about being able to transer chars to a different server? I had heard that after Blizzcon it was going to happen.

A lot of the people were from So. Cal, and surrounding areas. I don't think Blizzard planned effectively for the amount of people there. On the first day, like 1000 people were waiting outside at least a hour to get their credentials for the convention inside. Server meeting places were tables in the main convention hall which became a huge clusterfuck. There wasn't much after the computers to play WoW, exhibits for Starcraft, and the booze for 5 bucks a dixie cup at the convention center.

They didn't release the transfer character information...even though it was "rumored" everywhere. They may have but I wasn't sitting in the panel room when they discussed it.

About Battlegrounds/PvP, I was in the panel discussion and they did outline what was wrong with all of their instances. They are trying to limit the "timers" and moving graveyards/spawn points to better locations (aka Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley).
