Apparently theres a huge backstory with that amulet. another amulet from Garr, and Ragnaros and a thundergod
You need to get both and combine them in sillithus and use the combined item to kill ragnaros.... or at least this is what i have read....
there was an interesting post on blizz forums. cant find the link but it was awsome!

That's a sweet necklace. And to think as a priest I would be screwed out of it because the Belt of Transcendence dropped and is part of the priest set. Regardless, man, we'll have to start putting together groups to go hunt for these.
