Is there a speed class like in DAOC?
Just curious.

Druids get travelform at level 30, which is a 40% increase to speed (self only)
Hunters get aspect of the cheetah and aspect of the pack, the first is a 20% increase to movement speed, however if you get hit with the buff up, you drop from speed and become dazed. I'm not sure about aspect of the pack yet, as I've never seen it in use (it may or may not be in the game yet, but i assume it will be similar to aspect of the cheetah).
Shamans get ghost wolf form, I'm not sure what level they get it at (20, 25, or 30 i think) and i believe that it's a 30% increase to movement speed.
At level 40 everyone is able to either quest for or buy a mount or speed increase of some sort (felsteed, warhorse, plainsrunning, typical mounts). These increase speed by 60%. It costs 20g to learn how to ride the mount, and 80g to purchase the mount.
At level 60 everyone is able to either quest for or buy a mount or speed increase passed the level 40 upgrade. The level 60 mount currently costs 1000g, I'm not certain if Taurens, Pallys, or Warlocks will have to pay for the ability to get Advanced Plainsrunning (just what I call it, and I don't believe it has a name currently) or the advanced Warhorse/Felsteed.

how easy is it to get on and off your mount? im thinking pvp wise, running a (gank?) group and you encounter an enemy group. Is everyone going to be scrambling to "pack up" thier mount into bags, before the fight even begins?

Very easy. You can't attack while mounted but its common for lower level toons to be chased around by mounted toons. You can easily dismount close to your target and be rdy to rock.

To summon a Mount you must be out of combat, and you must be able to "channel" the summoning spell for 5 seconds. Dismounting is a simple push of a button that is pretty much instant.
