Hall's Fantastic and full of majesties WoW Mini Review
I started about a day ago more less, and from the git go WoW kinda had a nice vibe to it. 1st and formost it runs like the creme butter, its a very colorful game, the models are lil funky but they are nicely animated.
I decided I wanted to make a mojo flinger and I chose to go horde, I made a paladin 1st but after about 10 min I felt Like i was in albion and quikly went horde. WoW is full of so many lil stupid things, that make me giggle with glee, Im about 13 with out playing hard core. Honestly I dont really check my level only time I do is in regards to spells, to see if I can buy them yet. The quest which is basically all you do in WoW are for lack of a better word cool. I have yet to feel the redundency that I felt on the 2nd day of CoH and I also liked CoH. Its hard to describe in words but its like wow captures the Oh Shit Value that EQ had back in the day. Like I did a quest to find this guys brother who was killed, I wound up searchign a pile of bones on a remote island, I found what I was looking for reported back. Now the quest is done the guy thanks me for helping him and he bows to me then like 5 seconds later this ghost appears looks at me and gestures his thanks and vanishes. Now shit like this I like it keeps you in the game, these quests are LEAPS and BOUNDS ahead of the shit we are used to in camelot. I actually find my self reading the dialogue because it doesnt suck. On another not As a Shaman you have to EARN your totems as you level so you have to do a mini mission to get your totem, For my earth totem I had to find a hidden path in the mountains near where I 1st started and once I found this shrine i had to drink a potion I do and the shrines glows for a moment and a HUGE earth beast appears in spectral form and tells me about the earth and how we must protect it etc. I return back to the quest giver and he gives me my earth thingy. The quests get better and better, I have yet to get into the pvp side of things yet since im still fairly low level. But unlike in DAOC I dont feel the inclined rush to hit MAX LEVEL and farm RPS, I feel like taking my time and enjoying the game, which is a 1st for me in general. Im fairly confident when everything is said and Done WoW will be up there it does feel like a winner imho.

i have a level 8 night elf rouge on the normal server (avari) and a level 18 undead warlock on the pvp server (illuin) hall to msg me ingame sometime imo.
ive solo'd both those characters and i still have yet to get really bored, there is always something to do, whether its questing for actual good exp and items, kill mobs to get reagents to craft, mine or find herbs for engineering and alchemy/enchanting, fish and cook... there is always something to keep you busy, but i do think it would be more fun if there was some way to get a group going.

Awesome Hall, thnx for the write up. Hope all goes well on the PvP side of the game. Im tired of hearing people on DAoC telling me "there is no pvp". I just ask them if they know of any Blizzard game without PvP implemented

yea but if your grinding for a PURPOSE is SOOOO worth it. Like DAOC end-game PvP WAS worth it...
If I have to spend 6-8months of HARDCORE grinding just to get my toon to max level; I know people have to do just that much to be a decent fight or even level to grp with me.
Gettign 50 in DAOC is a 3day project... which means you get every 12 year old grouping and playing with you.
Basically having a HARD ass grind eliminates the childish kids with the attention span of a Knat from END-Game... and that sir is worth every minute of grinding.
The only bad thing about L2 was the economy (adena farmers, PvP System) If those were fixed I would still be playing it. (BTW I got a level 50 Dark Avenger, and 50 Phrophet before C1, but going red on a 12year old shit talker and loosing my shit wasn't my intentions of GOOD PvP)

Id rather take my time and and enjoy the game, Daoc had no game so all you pretty much had to do was grind because the pve in daoc sucked shit

Nobody enjoys grinding in a MMORPG, but that grind is what seperates dedicated and skilled players from all the rest.
If their was only a few quests for you to do to become the same as everyone else... you take away the skill and sense of achievment in the game and it just turns into a mindless Zerg vs Zerg battles. If you ever played planteside you woukd know what i'm talking about. DAOC is becoming more and more like planetside.

All grinding means is
A) you got to much time on your hands
B) your not playing to have fun
C) you want to make a nice Ebay acct.
atm wow is nothing like Daoc. The PvE content is present alot if it.
For example I would much rather search a corrupt companys Oil Derrick
and Disable there special machine by shuting it down manually
Then stealing the plans, Then stealing the special Equipment.
"A quest in Wow"
as opposed to farming Redcaps for 12hrs a day, or farming any random mob and going "Whoa look at that exp"
In daoc its prefered because DAOC has shit content.
Not to mention some of the items you get are sick, and the quest completed credit blows away grinding.
But when the content is presented its nice to go through it and ENJOY.
instead of whacking mob A for 17hrs for 3-5 days.
