@God Mode

Postby Eirene » Sat May 08, 2004 6:37 am

I think I'm at the point where I'm fed up with it.

Do the people that rely on "god mode" more concerned about what's on the screen than actually playing their character?

Every time we ran out in rvr yesterday we were literally killed every 5 mins. Why? Because someone was too concerned on looking on "the screen" than communicating to the group of what's going on.

First answer was "well everyone needs to get God Mode to compete". Fuck that. I play to have fun. I don't need a third party program to tell me where the enemies are. I know how to play my class and I play it very well in RvR but I need you guys to support. (I remember 1 fight I burned all my RAs and power because I was the roaming "healer" while the other 2 healers were still full power attempting to kite away...yeah that pisses me off) I want people to assist and know how to play their class. If you don't know what the hell you are doing, then stick to something you know.

Second answer "well this is a pve guild. More people understand mobs than rvr". Wrong again. If you communicate to others what's going on, then they get the big picture. If you set up assists in the beginning and explain their role, people tend to do remarkable things. However, we "assume" people know what they are doing so we lose 50% of the time.

If we want to set up more 8v8, we need to do a bit more "education" than relying on "god mode" in providing answers.

I'm at the point where I'm not having fun with guild members who use "god mode" and rather group with other guilds. Yeah most guilds use "god mode" but each role is explained ahead of time and you aren't stuck wondering what is going on.

I think I'll repost the IP to my Team Speak site. If we plan to be more "consistent", we can communicate better that way.

Maybe things will be better when the expansion comes out. Automatic radar built in of "enemies". Made like 50K on Pendragon in 8v8 with 4 runemaster caster group with no radar and relying on realm war map then logged on Merlin knowing 4 people using "god mode" and made only 500 rps. You know something is seriously wrong at that point.
The message buck stops here.

Cele dont get frustrated and give up. Take a leadership role, explain your expecatations from the start to your RvR team. If people dont pay attention or refuse to understand team work than boot them. It's what I love about Dwayne, he doesn't fuck around with people who dont listen. It's like my bankers, I always try to coach them up but if I have a banker that can't quite comprehend the requirments of his/her job description than I coach them out. A great leader will form the team into exactly what they want, and at times also trim from the team those who dont contribute. It's a lot easier to withdraw yourself than to be a true leader, show your true character and be an example to the rest.

Kim coach people up or coach them out, that the buttom line.

I agree.

Honestly, if people don't know what to do, they don't deserve to be in the group, much less the guild.

God mode only helps you avoid zergs imho, or speed 6 hibs about to mez your whole group.

Shouldn't affect a player's playability.

I think a TS/Ventrilo server will help you guys so much in rvr.

Until i joined a guild on lance that has a vent server i had no idea how well a group could work together without the need to stop what your doing and type.

I have vids of us playing and we have 17 mins of footage of maybe 5-6 lines of chat in /g =P which most of it is just "zzz" rest is on Vent and everyone in the group is on the same page all the time.

I dont consider us the best hib guild out there. We never run with the same 8. We are kinda like a hib version of BWC. But we make a group with whoever is online and unless its LA which we will unfortunatly only beat with our A group we can beat any group out there because of the communication we have.

I strongly encourage BWC to start using TS all the time. Dont even log in the game without starting it. Hell if you wanna pve there can be a pve channel. Even if you dont have a Mic(but i strongly suggest you get one even if its a cheapy) you can still listen to whats going on.

Anyway thats my take on things =)

^^^^^your right. Voice chat is needed in shooter and very useful in MMO. Winke, that is the best post you have ever made on these boards.

My friend and I have been FPSing for years, but we use the phone line
some reason Ts/Vent never really stuck with us. But none the less a good idea is a good idea.
