What needs to be done with the BWC Alliance.

As each day passes, i notice less and less alliance perticipation, and i wonder why is that. So i take a look at our alliance and see a few things.

These guilds should be removed due to inactivity
1.)Heritics (havn't seen much of them since they joined)
2.)Gate Crashers (why have a crafters guild in our /as when they dont craft for u?)
3.)Tingtong Inc (they where great for us in the past, but now that TT is selling, they are dead, why keep them around?)
4.)CQ (why keep godorns bot guild in the alliance?)
5.)F? (another TT, they are inactive and i rarly see any F on)

Now what i suggest is my opinion, but i feel its the right one, no sence in living in the past when we have the future (and frontiers) to look forward to.

Also with the destruction of Myth, and the rebirth of Redux I think BWC should squash there problems with them and add them (and there following guilds from the myth /as) to the BWC alliance, Doing this can do nothing but improve and strengthen OUR alliance. Midgard is becoming alb with all these alliances that are starting up, its weakening us and making communication much harder. If anyone see's any faults with my post, feel free to discuss, But this is what should be done to get us back to the overpowering alliance that we once where.

i agree with ya orms, we have been talking about reworking the /as for sometime.. just having had a _real_ meeting about it yet =P.

Part of the problem on Mid Merlin right now is there are alot of great guilds that all want to run their own show, and be their own alliance heads. Much of the problem is pride and ego.

Myth

Those are all separate alliances, and I'm not sure any of them would be willing to merge. I'd love to have Wyrd and Veturi in ours, but I think they both like being autonomous. Redux is going to want to see if they can become what Myth alliance was, so I don't see them being ready for a merge for a while. Ravenous wants a free for all anything goes alliance like the Myth alliance but looser, I'm not sure they'd be a good fit.

Personally I don't think it's good for the realm to have all our alliances split up, it makes communication a pain in the ass when we are under attack. But the problem is right there above. If you have ideas on how to solve it, feel free to speak up.

That leaves a limited list of guilds we'd like to recruit to add. Feel free to make suggestions to BWC officers of a guild you'd like to added. I personally am not worried about removing inactive guilds, because what do they hurt unless the alliance is full and you need their spot?

There are some upcoming guilds leveling etc atm on merlin. First is Convicts, mostly asian time zone/australian guild from Hib Guin. They are leveling about 20-30 members atm. They finished ML10/got some rvr with their guild on Guin and wanted to try a Mid realm. Something to consider.

Second is some of the smaller guilds that are trapped in some of the pve alliances but want to be rvr active like Project Mayhem. Both of the GMs in that guild are a husband/wife team I used to play with on MLF and Mordred beta. They like to rvr but their membership is too small to be considered in any of the other alliances. I think we will run into that problem a lot. A lot of guilds out there have potential but their membership is so small and we keep looking for highest RP gains instead of quality of players in the guild.

Joshll, i spoke with Redux about the possibility of a merge, they said they need to speak hold an alliance meeting to see where the stand.

Thanks Celest, our guild is in the same situation. We do enjoy RvR, but we are pretty small and it can be difficult to get enough people on at the same time to form a group. So, we would definitely vote for additional smaller guilds desiring more rvr.

I've got no problem inviting small guilds when we have the open spots. Why not if we have open slots? You are right, it's the quality of players and not the guild numbers.

Esprit is the perfect example of this. Same with F.

I know that Nex is going through some changes now... We have had some senior members retire, and new GMs promoted, but the one thing I have noticed different with the BWC alliance from the Myth alliance(formerly a part of) is that there is no chat in the mornings. We are lacking non prime time players. Soooooo, my suggestion would be to look at some more Euro/Asian guilds. In the morning I am usually with VN, IDE50, and LV. Would any of these guilds be interested in joining the alliance? They seem like solid guilds with their own direction and that direction seems to be the same as this alliance. Isn't that what we are about? independence, but with a common goal? We need growth though. Steady and slow. The last month I have only seen this alliance shrink. Nex Necis is here for the long haul, so do not even try to get rid of us. haha

That is exactly what I think. I think smaller guilds should really think of merging. If f and esprit are so "similar and small" why not combine and be "big and similar"? I just do not see the purpose of being in a guild where you cannot even get a full group together.

Esprit enjoys having it's own identity. We're made up of mature members who are good friends and we represent our guild with pride in everything we do. We are very careful about who we invite. We would no more wish to give up the Esprit identity than other guilds would want to give up theirs. We enjoy being part of the BWC Alliance, and enjoy RvR'ing with them and other alliance guilds. BWC has always been very open and accepting of us and we have not felt that our low membership is a detriment to ours or BWC's RvR experience.

Personally, the people that are in the alliance arn't my "Alliance" but more, my family, i personally and greatly attached to EDC aswell as BWC and everyone in the alliance. Good people make great alliances, not the guild size. we all have our own thing, and thats what makes us unique/great, whod want to be allied with guilds that are the same as urs? no Variety would get to me,remember that always, and we will never/should never have a problem.

I may step on a few toes and hurt a few feelings but I will be honest and it will be straight from the heart.

Ever since TOA came out BWC have been infatuated with PVE. So much infact that I have talked with quite a few Guilds and members who left BWC for that soul purpose. For 1hr I seriously thought leaving the BWC alliance and starting a RvR Alliance, seeing how I felt BWC had lost their will to activaly hold Daily/Weekly RvR raids.

I think celestrial is a great Raid leader... and with gundorf gone for a while most people leaned on her for most raids. I have noticed that she greatly reduced her RvR raids to more TOA raids ever since it came out.

I think you guys have a great oppurtunity to rebuild the Alliance stonger then it has ever been before. Get in contact with the guilds listed above and get the ball crackin'! Talk directly to the Gm's and work out the minor indefference's on leadership and overall Alliance Direction. Don't wait till they form an alliance of their own. Ovbiously BWC lacks some leadership, because a lot of key members retiring and what not. Adding more leaders to an Alliance will only make you stronger.

I may have become that outsider looking into the glass bottle and judgeing people without actually being inside the bottle with them and seeing the clearer picture. But it is only my oponion from when I left DAOC. Things may have changed since then. You can call me the L2 FREAK if you want

I always thought a 40-50person guild was always hard to manage with 2-3leaders. But BWC has run 200+ people with usually only 1 leader on at a time. For me I think that kinda challenge would be damn near impossible, but somehow..... someway.... there are people out there that do it (/hug celestrial and gundorf)

P.S. I think DAOC was at it's best when people would hit 50 and just go find a grp and RvR. With no equipment worries and letting the better man win. I think it pulled a 180 with the forming of gank grps and a overall need to cheat and win. It has turned into a #'s game... If you don;t have 2fg that can go out and RvR then what was is the point to play? and MAYBEE after 2hrs of sitting at the portal could you go out and play. Sure you can get your "leet" squad of 8 members and beat people with 3/1 odds by backdooring them. For me I didn't have the moral to cheat, the time to wait and try to play, or patience to organize a fully fuctional grp to really compete and a overall lack of interest.
