Considering starting a crafter up...

Okay I'm considering biting the bullet and doing an SC or ALC taking it to legendary levels. I'm leaning SC since there seems to be a shortage of these in-guild based on herald status.
Questions...
1. SC or ALC and what plat cost am I looking at to take to legendary?
2. Auto-crafter programs - feedback on these?
3. Is it worth doing or easy for us to find SC's on server?

Imihar use's or used, Autocontrol.... makes the mouse just keep clicknig and you set the timer and stuff

I used a nostromo n50; it's like a programmable keyboard that you can set the delay time between clicks. Nice thing is, you can make the clicks randomly timed... in case they check your logs (someone told me they could do this if they suspected crafting cheating).
Plugs into your usb port, fully configurable, you can download other peoples setups for it...
