Softening up the hibs - what keeps should we be taking?

I wanted to throw up a post to discuss. I think we need to be in Hibernia more, and taking alb keeps almost never. We need to make the hibs sick of defending and slow to respond. The only way to do this is to keep them constantly on the defensive. We need to make them get used to seeing strategic keeps drop and think "screw it, thats just BWC alliance wanting to farm us. Let them rot!" And then we go take another keep.

I'd also like to add that when we want to open DF, we should be in the habit of taking hib keeps and not taking the easy way out and taking alb keeps.

But taking hib keeps is harder for 2 reasons. First is that zergs are close by. If hibs have 50+ running around in emain or en route, then they are only a zone or two away. Second hibs have better classes than albs so they will fight better when they arrive.

Last night BWC went to hib to take a keep. We ran 2 groups. We debated a bit which keep to try before settling on Crim. 1st try we go to Crim. D1 falls and as we get rams up on D2 about 30-40 hibs roll in and wipe us. Ok, it happens. 2nd run we go to Scaithaig and got the keep down before 32 hibs arrive. Had a fun CY defense and won and then I had to log.

Here's what I want to know peoples opinions on - what hib keeps are best for us to take? Myself, I think the further from emain the better. Scaithaig is a great keep because like Arvarkr it controls the master runies at the relic keep. Aillinne is a great keep for the same reason but harder to take since it is close to the gorge. I'm thinking that if we get used to making them run to Scathaig, Da Behnn, Na NGed that we can start to train them not to respond.

I think taking Crim or DC is inviting ourselves to get massed zerged and the hibs are used to seeing those drop anyway. Unless we are going to zerg emain ourselves, there is little strategic value in taking them.

What do other people think?

I think it was proven this worked in Albion. After a few farm nights they will stop coming an get used to their keeps falling.

The other point I would add is that any hib keep run we have to have 2 rams per door minimum. And I'd say 3 rams per door for Aillinne or Bolg.

Things got fun after you logged, Josh. :P

We got another 2 groups to come to Crimthainn. We took keep with Ting's crew. :)

Then we went to Behnn. 38 hit scaithaig. We wiped them out.

We head back towards Behnn and we ran into Shux 3 fg crew. (Zone walls are your friends and we won with our 2.5 groups :P )

By that point, Albs took Arvakar (18 albs) and we had Behnn 2nd door to the very last hit point when 60 hibs killed us at the doors of Behnn. :(

So we released, went to arvakar, killed Justice crew. Took back arvakar. Got word Justice farming mids in DF at their usual spot. We went to DF with our 2fgs of guild mates. Killed Justice at their camping spot with no deaths.

Ported back to emain. Killed albs at the gate. We ganked 4 fgs of hibs at Gorge/Breifine border (zone walls are fun), ran to Druim Ligen killed about 50 hibs before the entire zerg rolled us all.

Ported back and got killed by Justice zerg (5+ fgs of albs- even albs on irc complaining about them :o )

Fun night :)

I love Kim.

Ail with at least 4 rams...6 is better.

Scaith is the next best, because you can move to Da Behnn or Na Ged and guard both easily.

Crauch and Crim are just dumb.

Bolg is 3rd best, but need 6 rams to do it fast., and Bolg is nice because mids can get there quicker as well.
