any clue anyone?

I'm thinking the C named east coast server. Since the only people I've seen confirm playing it are the jaxxers (all of us are going to it and playing in beta now, and love it) and you, that shouldn't be a problem

BTW, I might be able to get you an account to play some tomorrow, saphyre flies out tomorrow, but I already told another RL friend he could use her account, but his machine died, gotta see if he got it fixed yet.

Cool, at least we have an idea of what server. on the other hand since i'm kinda new to BWC and haven't played SWG yet(though looking forward to it) what is the clan going to lean towards PvP/crafting/or something else or are we more of an all around clan?? rebel or imperial or has anyone made any decisions on this yet just curious. i plan on having at least one overt imperial not sure bout any other chars yet though (mainly so i can work towards getting some storm trooper armor)

Well, no one here has expressed huge interests yet. I will tell you what the jaxers are planning as we do it. Below is the list of the 20 initial servers, altho only 10 or so will be available first thing, depending on registration numbers they will add more, alphabetically. It won't be exactly in this order tho, as more east coasts will be open than west coast.

That said, we are thinking Chilastra. I can tell ya that again, the jaxers, are going rebel, and have no interest in empire. We can still be on the same server at least if BWC decides to make a presence and play another way.

Right now, and of course this is subject to change as people get a better feel for it, this is the planned characters:

Candide - marksman going carbine, medic, carbine spec, and a mix of doctor and combat medic.
Saphyre - playing as tygra, a scout, going creature handler, with marksman/rifle skill. She may get some bioengineer
the two of us will have a third account, crafter, going tailor, chef, merchant.

Mosthula - Marksman/carbine, considering creature handler as well.
Serephina/Nikolaos - going entertainer/dancer, marksman/carbine, she isn't sure beyond that
They too will have a third account for crafting, not sure what all they will focus on.

Daoiid - master marksman, unarmed melee, commando
He may get a second account for crafting, to do droid engineer.

Between the above 3 crafters we plan on having most of the bases covered.

Hyla/desmo - He is a crackhead and can never makeup his mind. Probaly bralwer of some sort.

A few most of you don't know...
Kaos - going TK artist (unarmed combat master) and perhaps commando.
Lunar - he always plays two accounts, will be combat oriented.
Pope - new to the group, not sure
Wacme - Some combat role.

THe last 4 don't have as much experience with the game.

BTW these are a few of the jaxers. When you see me say that, I'm refering to a group of RL friends who all live in Jacksonville FL. Several of us have played games for years together, since highschool, be it sports, computers, whatever. There is about 20 of us all told, but it shifts from game to game who is playing what.

I know some of us will be trying it Candide but a few are going to let you test the waters and listen for your opinions on it . Ginnie pig for teh win! Moving an entire guild is a shit load of work and we are going to make damn sure we are ready before we try that. I see SWG being like PS was (hopefully longer playability), more of a supplemental guild project. It should be a blast with that many Jaxers playing.

Nods, thats fine I'm trying to resist sitting here and preaching to everyone how great the game is. I'm a firm believer that folks should make their own opinions if they are financialy able to.

Yes there are bugs in the game, of course it is just releasing, and sadly that is the accepted norm for this genre (something that we, the users premote btw, but that is another long discussion). Yes the game isn't for everyone.

But honestly, I'm having more fun in it than I have in any other game of its type. If you liked star wars, if you are looking for a game that isn't about power leveling, if you like social aspects of games, if you like exploring huge worlds just to see the next 50 foot awesome looking creature that walks around and makes the ground shake, if you like the idea of being in huge firefights with laser bolts flying all around, having to dive for cover, if you enjoy crafting, if you enjoy occasional pvp, if you enjoy 100% open pvp, then the game may be for you.

If you are focusing on just one aspect of the game, and not looking at all the other parts, it may not be a good choice for you.

It is a bit of everything, maybe not the best at all of them (altho the best at some, crafting only rivaled by UO, and certainly the best for rp'ers) but it does a good job with them all to make the game very well rounded. It is probaly the most "complete" game out there.

I saw the new list of assured servers today, and they are below. It seems like a LOT of people are wanting to go to starsider. If fatalis is there for sure that would be cool. I was thinking Radiant, not as seemingly of a "cool" name that will attract tons as starsider is, yet much better than chilastra.

Given that there are max populations,t hat will probaly be hit on the servers the first few days, I'm trying to find a nice balance of a server that will have a good population (no more palo please) and yet not be over crowded.

Oh, none of the jax crew wants to play on bloodfin for some of the reasons I have posted already. It is the unofficial official PK server, so you will probaly have more overts there than the rest. In beta tho, there are commonly overts around, and many try to hold various cities and fight all the time, with tons of coverts participating as well. I prefer to give a server that lacks the 13 year old "yer ghey" mentality, or at least has less of it, a chance.

One last thing. There wasn't a huge response to swg on these boards, so I'm doing this as me and my group of RL friends. I'm sharing the information here, and opening up to anyone here who wants to come along. What I say I don't feel represents BWC really...it may turn out a lot of you move on and it becomes the bwc guild, or the guild may decide to play on a different server, or as empire, or whatever. That is fine as well (altho even if you decide to go empire, I'ld at least like to be on the same server .

I just don't want to feel like I'm dictating what will be done to folks, I'm just opening up my group (there will be around a dozen of us at launch from here in jacksonville) to the few here that are interested in playing at launch, and we can move from there.

Well, I will be playing SWG myself. Hell, I even ordered the Collectors Edition of it.

Anyway, I will be the GM of my own PA for this game. I been a follower in DAoC for way too long.

I currently am the leader of a 30+ shooter clan that plays multiple games and such. We are mostly playing Raven Shield atm, but 90% of them have ordered SWG and are ready to go. I been running this clan for over 6 years and they were just a tad pissed that thier leader has been dicking around in DAoC for so long and not playing with them. So, I have to do my duty and return to leadership glory.

On a side note: I see you mentioned something about East Coast/West Coast server? I can honestly tell you right now although it would seem your pings would be better on the servers close to you, 4 of my boys in beta with me are East Coasters and they had less then 100ms pings to our West Coast servers constantly. Hell, one of them even outpinged me.

This game won't come down to pings anyway. It's gonna come down to can your system handle it. I been in the Beta since Beta 1 and the graphics have come so far that even my machine with a AIW Radeon 9700 Pro 128 Meg video card gets less then 10 fps in some towns on occation.

I think to me, the dumbest thing at launch is you can only have 1 character slot per server. But you can make 1 character on all servers. Supposed I started out as a human and wanted to be a Twi'Lek. I would be screwed to change because I would have to delete my character and start all over, and or, go to another server and leave my friends in the dust. I hope they open this up to more slots in the future. Anyway, my starting character is going to be.

Novice Artisan (Domestic Arts IV Clothing Repair & Surveying I Improved Results) will bring me to Novice Chef

Novice Scout (Exploration IV Alien Exploration Training & Hunting IV Unconventional Methodology) will bring me to Master Creature Handler

My choice on east/west isn't based on ping, but population play times. From UO and other games that have east/west, it is always harder for east coast players who work to play on a west coast server, as the population is lower when they play, than on an east coast server.

The issue is even compounded further for Euro's.

West coasters generaly have lil problems playing east coast servers, unless they stay up all night, then the population tapers off faster late at night than a west coast server would for them.

I play during east coast prime time, I would like it to actually BE primetime on that server.

We had that issue all the time on palo and andred, because of the west coasters in the guild/alliance, so much would be scheduled to start at 11pm or so my time, and we often had trouble participating.

East Coast is fine, pick a friggin server.
