SB Here We Come As Planned

The News

Ok guys, its time for you know that Law and I have decided to go ahead with plans to enter Shadowbane. After viewing the quality of the latest War Reports, screenshots, and hearing about the game from people who weren't breaking any NDA's whatsoever, Shadowbane is starting to look good once again. Wolfpack has also never failed to fall short on the little things, like attention to the quality of their phenomenal website, game lore, game coverage, and public relations (Though Airius Droc may feel differently!).

But there is another, more important reason why we are going to go ahead and enter the Nameless Empire in the world of Shadowbane, and that is for the simple fact that its going to come out first. AC2 is where Shadowbane was 6 months ago. Star Wars Galaxies is far to ambitious to make it out within the year, and we feel that Darkfall, as kickass as it looks, is a project thats going to have to commence for at least several more years before it can release.

So worst case scenario is that SB is going to be a game that only half of us like, in which case we'll play it only for the three to nine or so months before AC2 comes out. If it ends up being long-term orgasm that we all hope it will be, then we'll probably stay put in SB when AC2 comes out, unless we're all bored.

The Plan

The plan is to enter SB with the concept of "empire" fully intact and operational in the way we organize. Our nation will thus be called "Nameless Empire", and will be comprised of a few--at least at first--guilds.

We've selected guilds with attention to the 4 basic character types open for players to play in SB: Healer, Rogue, Fighter, and Mage. For now, in the pre-game setting, we will be attempting to promote the four guilds of the empire that will manifest and cater to the class archetypes: A Church of the All Father, a Theives Den, a Barbarian Clan, and a Wizards Conclave, with the Church as the Sovereign Guild. Dividing our time and effort between any more guilds than these is likely too much to tackle. Of course, if the House of Wraff came knocking at our door to subguild to us, I don't think we could decline.

The Roleplay

Essentially, we are an Empire in service to many dark and unholy entities. The Clergy of the "Church of the All Father" work for the Dark Lords of Chaos toward the ultimate destruction and/or enslavement of the world. It is a church corrupted beyond repair, with leaders who have either been told by the Dark Lords or in their madness convinced themselves that they are the Dark Lord's foremost Generals.

This of course doubles as a justification to Pk, manipulate, backstab our opponents, and do other naughty things, as we please.

I was about to protest before I read the part about how we're a corrupted Church of the All Father. In beta I'm going to start a human warrior, the original Sadtch.

Yeah, I'm busy writing a letter to Meridian asking the viability of unholy influences making their way into the Church, and the depths to which they run.

Report to us often!

sure may be a nasty and backstabbing guild, but not to our friends and allies.

I don't stand for that.

How's this for a death/jumping on your grave speach: "Your All-Father instructed you to cleanse the world of my race and you pray to him for the power to do so. Your prayers have not gone unheard. Your preciuos All-Father laughs at them and is spitting on your grave as we speak."

No, never. Which is why I specified only "our opponents" as victems of our machinations and intrigues.

Loyalty is very important to Law and myself, first to the guild, and next to our allies. We always stick by our members and friends.

Wouldn't backstabbing an enemy be called "frontstabbing"?

Depends on if the enemy knows our stance on our relationship. :sneaky:

From an RP perspective, very cool idea.

But goddamn, i'm so dissapointed with SB that I don't know if I will be able to bring myself to play.

Very interesting indeed. While I was gone, at certain school functions, I had an idea. Supported by my friends, who are planning on buying SB, this plan will once the game starts, spring forth into life.

The role of this empire sounds mighty....enjoyable to my plans. I was wondering, Sovereign, if I may speak with you personally about it..

You may be quite entertained

So everyone's on mordred not andred? Why didn't anyone mention this along time ago, especially considering the post I made when I first got back (which was when we were on the old BWC boards)?

Yes! My evil Black Mage shall rise from the ashes! You know, metaphorically speaking. And a new character goal: recover the art of NEcromancy! assuming its a hidden discipline and not just a viable set of spells.
