Gund, if you are getting frustrated, get an infantry MAX. They MOW thru stuff and take some damage. Reavers can whoop you, as can tanks and the few specced in anti vehicle.
ALL infantry go down quick. Key is to do your shots in bursts, so you dont get the huge cone. Was a TON of fun last night. I found an AMS on 3 occassions, and just walked in and started mowing them all down as they spawned. If it wasn't for the slow reload I would have done it all day.
Just now, at the tower east of girru, I got behind a tree, with them between me and the tower (them being a deployed AMS). I just sat there and killed them as they ran out, they never saw it coming. I almost felt bad, heeh.

I haven't gone SA yet. MH went AV, which for VS gives you the lancer, no tracking but it has a fast projectile, altho a halfsecond delay on firing.
TR's AV gives you a rocket launcher which tracks...Tracking is goooood.
My AA MAX has tracking, and I'm sure many a reaver/mosq pilot hate me now. God knows I did with my reaver.
Playing around in the VR tho, I liked the thumper, because you could carry several rockets, plus a few grenades to launch over rocks or walls where they are hiding. Against vehicles tho, it is only one rocket at a time. The rocklet I think has 6? then you have to reload. Allows you to firea few more off quickly. Overall tho, I wasn't too impressed with SA in the VR, but I've not used it in realtime so it may be better.

VS energy weapons own because you only have to right click to switch firing modes. Projectile weapons you have to change ammo and it goes thru the whole reload animation, by which time you're dead. I've actually done a lot of damage to MAXes with a pulsar (med assault VS special weapon) on AP mode.
and yes candide, I fucking hate getting missle locked. It makes me so damn mad. There are a few ways to counteract it, such as only doing strafing runs w/ afterburner. Also, you cant outrun the missle but you can use afterburner and "hide" behind a terrain feature. The missle will either fly by and explode, or home in on you and explode against the intervening terrain.
I really think reavers need a few more options - which should come in the form of ammo types. For example, a few heavy bombs that are dumb-fire and drop straight down, and countermeasures like chaff/flares to stop anti-air fire. I also think the anti-armor weapons should become more popular by means of boosted effectiveness or increased availity - to make MAX soldiers a little less of a threat.
