Sunder MC raid
Both of you are being gay. BWC is a guild designed for friends to have fun and play as they please, killing LeWt OMFG%!@** boss MC would be nice but it doesn't define us as a guild nor as individuals in a guild. I like you Rich but dont insult or throw the "you havn't killed boss MC yet, therfore you suck". If and when BWC decides it's time to conquer it we will do it using your strategy, our strategy, and anything else it takes to do it. Lets keep this in prespective that this is a game intended for fun, everyone has their own way, and pace for having fun. This isn't a pissing contest nor should it ever define us as one.

I'm not sure if you could miss the point, or be more offensive if you tried.
All I'm trying to say is "I respect your right to use UI mods, and I wish you could respect others' right not to".
If going on an MC raid requires me to install something I don't want to install in order to go... I won't go. No skin off my nose. I ain't mad at ya for asking.
I play the game to have fun.

well, i took offense to how it was implied that you don't need this ui enhancement be a decent healer in MC. you do. and I don't mean to be an ass about it, but yes, this guild is meant to be fun. but fun also involves winning. i liked bwc because even if we didn't have the skill, we would win regardless.
then i'm seeing kim say raidassist is mandatory, especially for primary healers, and i totally agree. it really bothers me that people won't install a UI mod because it makes the encounter less challenging...
get real... the bottom line is its already been too challenging, so I am really bothered when I see people saying they don't need it. i want to see BWC do well, but when primary healers do things like this, saying i won't go if i have to install a ui mod that makes me better, what else is there to do but talk about it on a forum :/

There are mods that I don't use on a regular basis like PvP kill spam, Specialized Maps, or Coordinate locator. I don't use the heal scripts because to me thats cheating.
However I do use CT Raid Mod mostly because its a lot easier from a healer point of view to keep in touch with the people you are raiding with. I understand some people don't like to download other mods other than cosmos or CT UI but it's a useful tool that brings together a group of people and sets a higher standard for raid success. There are many many raids I have participated in where the raid has reached the "end goal" with the Raid mod.
I don't know if Sly has had a lot of "raid" experience, other than a few 5 mans here or there but as you progress to high level instances like Blackrock Spire, Scholo, and Strat (where you need 10 or more), you will find mods like this much helpful. For example, as a healer, if you are in the 2nd group and the primary healer is out of mana and they can't type fast enough to notify you to heal, how would you know? Would you stand there picking your nose and expect the worst or would you attempt to be a team player and help out in the situation?
Many MMORPGS for a while have been allowing end-users to craft their own various interfaces to cater to their own needs. Blizzard didn't make a perfect product. There are some things that needed to be implemented. Sony Online allowed various interfaces in SWG when it was released. In DAoC, after ToA was released, I had a wicked UI which had a mini group/healing window, maps, ToA ML maps, Info bars, Mob information etc. It enhanced my play style as well as other mods may enhance your play style.
Nonetheless, I don't know how I survived Molten Core the first time we did it. We didn't go very far but...we did learn a lot. If every player on the raid had the mod, I'm sure there would have been a lot less deaths. We had at least 6 deaths pulling the first 2 mobs and mostly because half of the people had a curse and mages couldn't target people to dispell. Like I said before, mods like this will better organize the guild and increases the percentage of raid success. We work harder and together and on the same wavelength in completing the raid.

The message buck stops here.
As a priest, the raid UI mod is only a good idea. Without that I would make macros for /target person the person being the important people I might have to heal, then I would have to cycle thorough those macros to check healths and it makes stuff alot more complicated than if you just use a mod. I dont really see the big deal about just using a mod...I was able to go on one MC raid and making macros for 40 people ain't gonna work, also forget clicking on them to check their health that don't work, even with vent/teamspeak I would still have to type /target person and that's too slow too....use the damn mod!
