Runemaster spec

I have gotten some advice on spec'ing my (wifes character) runey. Most of the discussions are while were in grp's or just in guild chat. So the opinions have been varied. I would lke to get all the good stuff, PBT, PBAOE (I was told it was called something else now or it was.....nevermind..just correct me). Please, any advice would be great. She's a full Dark spec now.

Best bet is to talk in-game to our famous Runie's : Ganedar, Imihar and Sylix.

I think Gane and Sylix are supp main/rune secondary and I haven't heard them complain so far and they are awesome support with 6s pbt.

Valynor is Rune/Supp which is the traditional runie spec. Again awesome nukes, and gtae for keep defence/attack plus 10s pbt.

First of all runis dont have Pbaoe, thats spiritmaster skill =)
anyway what we have instead is Ae nuke's.

Me, Ganedar and Sylix are Full supp and the rest in Rune.

It all depends on ur wife and who she likes to play her runi.
Suppression runis are support classes, we dont do the amount of damage that a pure Dark runi does but instead we have skills that helps the group for example our uber 6 sec pbt =).

Anyway if ur wife choose to go full supp the best way for here is to go fll dakness untill lvl 20 thatway she has the strongest nukes wich makes it alot easier to solo if she cant find group. at 20 she respecc all into supp and keep lvling till she gets to lvl 26 then she will get her fist pbt the 10 sec pbt and that will help her ALOT when it comes down to find groups.

this is how it worsk overall

Darkness: Strongest Nukes
Suppression: 6 sec pbt and medium damage ae nuke and ur usual nuke
Runecarving: The strongest Ae nukes and a powerfull Bolt and Gtaoe for keep taking/defense, but the ae nukes in Runecarving is only good in Zergs ansd should never be used when healer use Ae mezz =)

Imihar forgot to add that all Suppression nukes have a snaring effect as well. This is great for tanks or classes trying to charge at you while you are nuking. However, the downside to Suppression is the mana drain. When running 6s PBT during an RvR battle, you will find that the supp RM is quickly out of power...even with POM5. I have the RA Serentity 3 and that helps a bit...however, if I had it to do all over again, I would go with 47 Runecarving and 26 Suppression.

This spec will give you awesome bolt damage (little damage variance) and good GTAoE damage (140+). For comparison purposes, my spec 50 Suppression 20 Runecarving does the following damage: Bolt on archers/casters 495-1100 (with crit), Bolt on tank class 100-200, GTAoE 15-40. As you can see...keep defense is not practical for a supp RM.

Adding to what Ganedar said, I've got a 50 darkness runie. With Mastery of Magery 3 boosting things, before resists he is nuking for about 630 without crits. He is a stone cold killer. Very deadly in open field. Great emain character. But the problem is that at keeps, it's damn hard to get off enough nukes to kill someone without getting dotted or crit shotted by an archer. DD's are not the most effective at keeps.

If I had a respec stone, I think I'd respec 47 RC, 26 Sup. And I would be hoping that bolts get fixed as they suck so so so bad right now. The Runemaster team lead says a fix is coming though. God I hope so, both my chars have bolts. Bolts work in PVE, but in RVR you caon't hit someone if another person has even targetted your target even from a distance. Pisses me off, and has made me rarely bother to cast them anymore.

The big question is what do you play the game for? If you love running open field, darkness runies rule. If you like keep battles, GTAE in the RC line would be sweet. And if they fix bolts, then a RC runie could be viable in open field again. And suppresion runies, they are support characters.

So it just depends how you want to play.

Guyute, just play the zerker they own and you know it


coming first hand it sucks getting 2 shotted as a caster. even 1 shotted with a damned zerker on ya.


all im saying is that i've palyed caster and zerker. zerker wins
