Postby GodarWulf » Tue Sep 10, 2002 10:57 am

8) Hey boys and grrls, I'm still around. Still settling into my new place. MY HS connection will be up on the 12th. Using an alternate connection to make this post.

Cheers.

nice, is that both directions? If not what is your sending speed?

Comcast gets slower every day.

Before there was no restriction on downloading bandwith, but the sending bandwith was limited to 15k/sec.

Now they are wanting to set the sending bandwith to 12.8k/sec and limit the downloading bandwith to 150k/sec.

DSL is looking better every day lol. :D

bah, I hate all these damn companies.

Computer needs to be able to send also
especially for "online video conferencing" and all the other bullshit they advertise.

FYI: ADSL is Asyncronous DSL.... meening not syncronous... well wtf is not syncronous? The upload/download speed... ADSL meens teh upload speed is different from the download speed... SDSL (syncronized) meens both upload and download are the same... And it meens your paying a pretty penny.

Cable = 3mb-ish down.... and like 50 up. lol

comcast's definition of cable is

1500 kbits down and 128 kbits up.

and it takes 8 bits to make a byte....

which yields shitty results
