Hell yes it is. A few of my friends recommended it to me when it was in season one, watched the first 5 episodes back to back cause I couldn't turn it off. I enjoyed the first season a little more than the 2nd one though it was still good. A bit too many plot twists and cliff hangers for my tastes and that pale, British chick annoyed the hell out of me.

They give it on Sunday's at 9 or 10 on CBS also. At least they were giving them but I think the season ended, not sure if they will run season 2. I hear some of the books are pretty good too but I haven't gotten into them.

Yeah, my wife started us watching them when they came out on CBS. Really good show, has a nice dark aspect to it which is pretty funny.

She's read most of the books now too, said they are pretty good, and she gets through them fast.

Basic concept is Dexter is a sociopath with a strong desire to kill people, but given his background (which I won't go into as it is given out over the first several shows) he tries to do it only to those who "deserve it". So he works as a blood spatter expert in the Miami police department, which you can imagine provides him several new victims.

The first season is available on DVD, with the second season coming in august.

I prefer to rent it over watching it on CBS. I don't really care for edited/censored material.

It's one of my favorite shows. You get used to the blood after a while too. Definitely don't watch on CBS, all of the episodes are on demand and you can probably watch them online somewhere.

Yeah I prefer not to watch the censored and edited version either, but I figured there's some lazy people that don't want to go searching on the web or may not have showtime :p.
