I would definately want to work for an employer that just lost a lawsuit for overworking their workers.
Not to mention the increase of crap in the games they release, and the re-release of the same games with a new roster.

Yea the only reason EA is so famous for overworking their employees is because they are the "evil corporation" or the "microsoft of video games" I know for a fact that there are alot of small studios out there that work their employees ALOT harder than EA does... cough cough Valve cough cough Bethesda cough cough.... All truths told EA is a pretty good place to work. Benefits out the ass and yes they do work my ass off from time to time but there have also been straight months of time where I was totally relaxed working barely 7 hours a day. Allthough I can not defend the quality of games that we make (I agree that our quality has been suffering as of late) its still a damn good place to work.

I'm basically doing something similar in a business app environment and am curious to compair

depends where you live... in cali where its expensive to live it goes like this
SE I (1-3yrs experience) - 55k-65k
SE II (3-5yrs experience) - 65k-90k
SE III (5+ experience) - 90K-120k
these are totally guesses from what ive heard all i know is what i get paid and its in the SEII range
