Hey all,
Just to say that I bought my first house. I am all excited. Its not big, but I like it, with a big backyard, a nice swimming pool, huge deck to make some pool parties.
I am so happy to get out of a damn apartment and live in a house again.
Well, will try to go to sleep, if my brain stops counting mortgages, taxes, heating cost, etc.

if my brain stops counting mortgages, taxes, heating cost, etc
This nearly made me cry last month, my better half had been on a shopping spree, and had lost her job the following day....><
Scissor = Check
GF's creditcard = Check
A bottle of jack daniels = Check
Bye bye, Mr. Visa...
Ofcourse she cried me a river afterwards calling me unfair and all. But when i pointed out evidence A and B, she quickly became silent...
A = Monthly bill which we share between us from our salary(in this case it was nearly my entire salary that got spent ><)
B = Her shopping bills. <---finding these lying on the kitchen table is enough to make one call their personal accountant, lol.

Wow, you guys share your credit card bill? Thats pretty trusting.
I live with my GF, but we don't share any of that stuff. We have a joint account that we pay for anything shared from, but it only includes groceries, cable, phone, stuff like that, and we both put money into it.
Some people just don't understand money, and the best way to learn is let them dig their own hole. I spent most of my life in debt, and hate it now. When I got my first "real" job, I stayed living my crappy student apartment with roommates. My GF and I leased a cheap Toyota Echo and just share that since cars are too expensive anyways.
I managed to pay off $35K in student loans in 2 years though instead of dragging it out. 2 years later, we've got enough saved up for a house to get us a really good mortgage rate, and our payments will be low enough that even if one of us looses our jobs, we won't have any trouble making them.
I just hate the idea of being locked into something and feeling trapped. Plus this way we have money to travel and do things, instead of being stuck paying some huge mortgage.
Different people have different levels of stress though, so maybe thats just me

Yeah i trust her with my credit card. We've been together for nearly 4 years now(since 3rd year in high school i think it comes to when put in US terms), and we got our own place, only debt we have really is the loan we took to get our appartment.
I plan on getting a car this summer when im done with my army tour(ends july 28th!) and will hopefully get a job has a firefighter
Atleast the plan is to become a firefighter, but if that doesn't swing then i got good commercial/store management skills to fall back on
Lastly, August 29th, taking GF out, fancy candlelight dinner, strole by the city lakes and lastly end up infront of the royal church, which is where im gonna ask her the big words

Doing the inspection tomorrow. I wont move in until june 27, it will be hard to live in my apartment until then, but I will survive.
Cant really see the land yet, still to much snow hiding all the grass (I hope there is grass under the snow)
House comes with a above ground swimming pool, 18 feet long, this summer should much more fun than the last one.
Well i am really happy, a bit tired with all the contracts, financing, etc, but I think my quality of life will go up a notch.
Well good day to all,
Boubou
