Got this email and thought I would share.

Subj: Update on Middle-Earth Online

Hi all,

This is shaping up to be a busy summer for the Middle-Earth™ Online production team! While we continue to craft the highly anticipated Tolkien-based MMORPG, we are also in full swing preparing for MEO to take over Turbine Nation 2004 (insert maniacal laughter). MEO will take center stage at the annual online role playing games players’ event. Some of the highlights include:

o 50 lucky attendees will walk away with a reserved seat in the Middle-Earth Online beta

o Completely interactive MEO demos taking you into the depths of Middle-earth

o In-depth panels with open discussions about the game

o Turbine’s Middle-Earth Online production team will be on hand to meet, mingle and answer your questions about the game

o Numerous exciting door prizes

Turbine Nation takes place at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday, August 7, 2004.

If you’d like to attend Turbine Nation and get in on all the MEO action, tickets are still available! Admission is just $30 per person, if tickets are purchased online before Aug. 2, 2004. Purchased at the door, tickets will be $40 per person. You can get your tickets at http://store.turbinegames.com.

For more information on Turbine Nation, check out www.turbinenation.com. Or for the latest updates, keep checking the community forums at www.middle-earthonline.com.

Namarie,
The MEO Team

Sorry, Turbine will have to make a decent game that does well for a while before I consider them. AC/AC2 were terribly designed and illconcieved games.

I thought the graphics on AC2 were pretty good, and the game played pretty well (when I beta tested it), but man was it boring as hell

Yeah, for the first week of beta'ing AC2, i thought I had found a new game. Then I realized I was playing 3d whackamole, and the typical AC type support was happening (IE, let's ruin any fun that was in the game).

What is interesting, is even though I left AC, I nkow that at the time of AC2, they were FINALLY addressing some of teh stupid issues in AC to make it a bit more fun. And yet they come to AC2 and try to implement some of the stupidity that they were changing in AC. Just made no sense.

Has AC2 closed yet? I konw they had to merge a bunch of servers due to lack of population about a year ago.

Love the books, love the movies, I hope I love the game is all I have to say. And of course hope the PvP is good. I will not look at a MMO untill it is in FaF alphas anymore. Hopefully I can gather a alpha account or two. Well see ~

"And of course hope the PvP is good"

Have they changed their stance on this? I haven't looked in months but last I saw there was a no PvP (except perhaps an arena type thing) in the game, as you would only be playing the "good" races.

Honestly I know little about the game Candide. Like other MMO's though; if there is no PvP, I most likely will not be playing it.
