QUESTION FOR GUNDORF

I figured you might know about this place seeing that you live in Austin.

My neighbor, who does a lot of traveling for work, just got back from Austin and was telling me about this awesome BBQ place he went to.

It's called The Salt Lick. It's in a town called Driftwood about 15-20 miles SW of Austin. Ever been there?

He took a few pictures of this place. My god the BBQ pits were HUGE.

I'm kinda curious because I plan on coming to Texas sometime this year. Kinda want to visit Austin and San Antonio. Been to a lot of places in Texas when I traveled for work but not these two.

Salt Lick is god.

Their is actually a restaurant now, about 3 miles from my house.

Give me a PM, tell me when your coming, and Ill setup you up with the places to visit and things to do, even hopefully meet.

Peace.

Salt Lick in April and September are THE best times to go. Why? Because the college coeds are invariably there as you get closer to sundown after tubing on the Guadalupe. Bikinis, BBQ and beer - oh my!

A MUST SEE!

p.s. the real Salt Lick (not the pos restaurant near Gun's house) is about 7 miles from my place (its out in the country - which is why its a B.Y.O.B. - dry county)
