And where exactly are you going Zeris? DONT EVER DISRESPECT A MEMBER OF THE SKILLED TRADES.
Sven- right -on! Summer jobs in the trades= bank.
Little known fact: A job in the skilled trades can earn most people just as much,if not more than a degreed individual sitting behind a desk "jacking off" as Sven would state.(run-on) Depending on how hard you want to work/push it.
...and yes I am a carpenter (Arch drop-out)

Where am I going? Well, I'm attending a small liberal arts university on an extremely generous federal scholarship granted by my Army ROTC contract. When I graduate I'll be a second lieutenant and I'll serve a four-year commission. I'll be at least a captain by the time I'm done with my commission and then I can sign on for longer or serve four years in the reserves, I have either option. After I'm done with that I can choose from a huge amount of jobs with generous starting salaries - I will be a highly-sought-after employee due to my discipline and military experiences.
Beats the hell out of scooping people's shit.

Zeris if you honestly and actually think that the profession of plumbing=scooping peoples shit, then I would urge you to do a little research on the subject so as to not make yourself look any worse before commenting any further.
Doubtful at best, that Sven or any other plumber out there has ever had to "scoop" a turd that wasn't their own for either work or leisure. (some people do have strange hobbies)
Though your accomplishments may be many, do you think any of them will earn you the right to look down upon or speak down to people for their chosen proffesion? I most certainly hope your educated better than that.

Wow. A liberal Arts student and an U.S Army private.. I'm impressed :/
If you think saying "scooping shit" is offensive to me, I'd laugh. We use much worse to describe ourselves. Sad fact is, 75% of plumbing has nothing to do with shit. Next time, your house is heated, your sink flows, or you take a shower, think of the joys of plumbing.
Last summer, I actually did framing, this summer, I went with plumbing. Its one of the hardest trades to master, if not the hardest. My grandparents were in construction, and they own multi-million dollar businesses. My dad has the same. I was fortunate to be able to go to college and study International Business with a minor in Business Administration, and truthfully, I find construction a way better oppurtunity.
If you want me to cut down on you, I will, and with pleasure. But, for respect of BWC, I won't.

Ok, fuck it, you started it.
You think you're going places because you get your shit pushed in the Army instead of picking it up and enjoy some lackluster community college?
Let me be the first to tell you, your career is the Army Reseves? Wow, you can blow shit up on the weekend, I'm jealous, and you get to be in contract with the worst union that ever lived, your goverment. I'm glad you will be sought after for being disicpline, because there is another 300,000 + who have the same creditionals that you do. But who am I to say you're going nowhere? After all, you're just another one in a million who thinks he's something special, when reality is this - you're just a common twirp who will be working at Safeway for the rest of his life, being immune to the propaganda that you were committed to something more, something better, the U.S Army.
I might not make over 50,000 a year in construction, but I will always be intact with some values, the values that I lived life my way, the way I wanted. Construction is my summer job, its my family business. No plumbers exist in my family, but its a trade with commits to something that I can use in life. Will I end up a plumbing - no, but do I respect everyone in the trade? yes.
By the way, thanks for showing your balls for insulting me on a message board. I'm glad the Army teaches its so very special candidates that values and respect actually account for something.
