Ok, the next issue is a really stupid one, but for some reason a bunch of people including myself have had the problem.
Here is the attempted next fix.
If you are on WinXP then do this..
Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio devices.
Once in that window click on Advanced button.
Now, you should have a bunch of things showing. For microphone check to see if the mute is checked. If yes, that is ok. We go to next step. If no, go ahead and put a check in it.
Now, on that window click Options at top and then select Properties.
Move the dot to the Recording option and hit ok. A new window will now popup showing all the selected options.
For Microphone where it says Select, make sure there is a checkmark in that box. If not, click it to put the checkmark in. Now that you have done that just hit your X to close it.
Load up TS...
Click on settings, then select Sound Input/Output settings.
Now hit the Activate local test mode and talk with the key you assigned before and see if you can hear yourself.
At most you might need to make sure your mic setting is at least midway on the earlier settings I had you look at. Let me know if this fixes your issue and good luck.
