Sunder MC raid

Postby Eirene » Tue Apr 12, 2005 6:14 am

Well when speaking to the GM of Sunder I thought he was gathering about 10-15 of their guild and we would do Molten Core at 3 pm est this saturday.

However, I believe they changed it a bit and made it an "open" raid and you basically sign up on their forums as an attendee.

If you are still interested, you can go here:

http://sunderhq.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=15

However, I believe we (Filth and I) are still working out some stuff with the guild SG to do a raid on Saturday also. As always, you must have CT Raid Mod to attend.

Edit :
Sign up on Sunder forum as an attendee w/your class and guild. They will sort out what is needed etc.

I won't be attending this Sat. My sister is flying in today to spend the weekend up here in Sactown so I'm gonna be chilling w/her.

Dragon kill points, I think? Sort of a point system that originated with the big EQ guilds a long time ago, you get points for going on raids and such and use the points to buy/bid on loot that drops in raids. Seems to be pretty popular with the guilds that raid a lot but tend to have some non-guildies with them most of the time, ensures that the guildies get some loot instead of always losing it to non-guildies.

Can I ask why I should be forced to use a UI mod?

Because without it, the raid will fail.

As for saturday, I most likely won't be there. Getting a new car saturday and seeing a Yankee game on Sunday.

Perhaps you could explain to me how the raid would fail because I don't have a UI mod.

It allows you to see the health, mana and debuffs on every member of the raid as well as specify MTs and what not.

Basically, you're one click away from getting rid of debuffs and in places like MC, it's imperative that you do this in a timely matter as things like Fire Lords send out AOE magic debuffs that take away enough health to kill you AND silence you at the same time.

Without it, priests will constantly be typing /target so and so which takes time and means people die.

That's just one example.

Isn't there a priest in every group?

Generally no and the priests need to heal as well. Some priests are specific for tanks and priests can't dispell themselves since they're silenced and dying from the DoT

That's pretty rough. I wonder why Blizzard designed encounters that couldn't be completed without UI mods that they didn't release...

on blackrock, we have tried everything regarding loot, and the system we currently use (which has been quite successful so far), is basically, people who can use the item get to random 100 on it (decided by guild leader). At the end of the raid, everyone who didn't win an item, as long as they were in there for half the raid or more, we'll give them a +10. So the next raid they attend, they get to random 110. This caps at 170. We've tried 150, it was too low. If you win an item, you get reset to 100 next raid, and of course, you can't win 2 items in the same raid.

Blue drops are just randomed away at the end for people who can use them.

This way, we can invite non-guildies and they still have a pretty fair shot at loot, and it gives them more incentive to comeback to finish part 2, or part 3 of MC.
