Phpbb help....

Postby Sulolwen » Thu Aug 15, 2002 4:20 pm

I got myself a phpbb board, and a site "www.blackstallion.ionichost.com" which I will probably transfer to a shorter name...

But it would not upload the phpbb....

Could it be my ignorance to such things? Most likely. However if anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it

You will need ftp access to upload all the files unto the server, and then you will also need shell access or another form of access to create/install the database.

You will also have to create a user and password for the database and configure the forums to access the database through the username and password.

you have to set up a database for all the posts to go into. This has to be done on the server itself. (cannot be done by just uploading files)

I'm not sure if ionichost even supports/allows databases to be hosted
